It's always a team game, Dave won't do it on his own. Good to see iorfa and Doherty, both crap lately, have good games
Overall there are reasons to be a little more optimistic.
I would drop Coady for Price next game and push Edwards forward more and set up a straight forward 4-2-3-1 and at some point get Bod/Mason/Dicko to form a partnership.

Agree.
Cinci logs out to read what I write! LOL.
Obviously I'm pleased to see that he reads my posts, but will he take notice? Doubtful, as he's already disagreeing with others. I'd like to see him gone, as his negativity is harmful, and more suited to Mol Minx or WITSS.
a lot of work to do yet but we do have spells of quality football that suggests a decent coach could get this squad top 6. still need a couple of reliable defenders, and we will be playing with yet another back four next home match. i get the feeling dicko, bod, cav, doherty and one or two others are only a couple of goals or results away from gettimg their comfidence back and could all have a massive second half of the season.

Yawn.
Feeling a lot happier tonight now the adrenaline has worn a little, i reckon we might have a barnstorming second half to the season, i want to believe Lambert is a smart cookie
Good run of games for us through December as it goes, a good chance to make things look better before January where it gets considerably tougher for a spell.
Biggest problem is no goalscorer, bod and dicko not doing it
Just watched the highlights.
Iorfa had no right to both reach Doherty's pass (which was too heavy) and pull it back at a decent pace. Edwards' finish was excellent.
Lambert was right in that we should have been well clear before QPR's goal. Five wouldn't have been unreasonable.
Costa's goal was right up there.
QPR's goal was a shambles, with any number of individuals to blame.
Perch should have got three reds for that challenge.
Didn't see his booking.
Both sides should have had stonewall penalties.
A fair result would have been 7-3 to us, on the balance of golden chances. QPR could so easily have grabbed an undeserved point - we need a couple of tidy centre halves minimum in January and a GOALSCORING centre forward.
It was a great thread though yes ?

Best one in three weeks.
Nervy at the end but an important win. Made hard work of it for a long time and until Costa little bit of brilliance Dave Edwards looked like the only player likely to score and he could easily have had a hat trick. Plenty of individuals that don't don't do well like Cavaleiro who wasted good positions time and again, and Saiss who made error after error when we were on the back foot at the end. But the win will do a lot for confidence, hope we can build on it
Off to film my fox. Seems that being a Northfield fox he prefers pizza to red meat

Good luck dude
As I said last night I think this win will do a lot for confidence of the team and let's hope we can kick on from here. Still a fair way from reaching the potential of the squad but from a first win in 10 games we have to expect that.
Hope Ikeme is ok, much better than Lonergan imo.
Need to keep Iorfa as a full back now and him and Doherty are the best pairing there. Good to see Stearman play better, and him and Batth can maybe rekindle their good partnership. Saiss generally did well but did wilt more than anyone when QPR pressured us at the end. I counted 4 unforced errors in injury time. Still can't make my mind up about Coady but he has done more than Price in recent games. Dicko did ok, although not sure he gives us as much as Bod. I would play him wide in a three instead of Cavaleiro. Maybe Cav will come good with a run in the team but he wasted so many opportunities from good positions. Is that from a lack of playing time or a lack of quality, time will tell. Costa has been poor recently but much better here and got a special goal, hope he can get some consistency. Said before the game that the key to the game would be whether Edwards was given licence to get forward and he always looked the most likely to break the deadlock, and was close to getting a couple more. The way Wolves play we need the number ten to get into the opponents penalty area as we are so used to seeing strikers isolated. Him and Mason are the only two midfield players we have that do that.
At least a bit of hope has been restored and with a busy fixture list in December, hopefully the league table will look a bit better for us by the end of 2016

Really pleased to see Edwards sharing top rating again. Express & Star describes him as "a leader", and say the away fans were singing his name.
He, and Costa, showed the forward how to put the ball in the net, and, but for their keeper, Smithies, (who I thought was MOM), the victory would have been more emphatic.
Saiss did drop off alarmingly the last ten minutes when QPR cranked up the pressure and I thought Coady pretty much went missing second half.
Edwards did the opposite to Coady and became more and more prominent and exploited the space as he pushed forward more which wasn't the case first half and dicko was largely anonymous first half also.
Would definitely keep the back four as is for a few games now as all of them looked a little better to me and batth/stearman has the potential we saw a few years back.
Cav the better winger first half Costa certainly the better second half for me but both had good moments combined with some poor decision making, certainly cav as the game rolled on and felt to me like he was trying too hard to impress at times. We need to keep both in the side though as the balance is much better.
All in all signs of improvement but a shame it came against ten men so we can't gauge it properly but confidence should have improved at least and Lambert made a point of dishing out hugs and back slaps to cav and dicko.
Only change for me would be price for Coady next game
On reflection a good result under the circumstances, when is an away win not a good result! I do think there is still a long way to go to match the teams at the top and QPR are looking pretty poor.
But lets hope we can press on from this. I think Cav needs to find a bit of form, not going to be easy for him during a British winter. Bod looked more dangerous though when he came on and should have taken his chance. As should Doherty and then those one on ones at the end where we should have been more clinical. Smacking 4 or 5 past QPR would not have flattered us too much at 90 minutes, and woudl have provided a well needed confidence boost, but we still had to cling on at the end.
We play them again before the end of the month, lets hope by then we are comfortably clear of the bottom three.
ffs we won one................
