Hugo please!!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Look, I've told you NO already. I don't bend that way.
Great News, Hopefully our regular back 4 back tomorrow !!!! Hugo is a priority !!!! (Lamela, not so much .
Not that I want it to happen BUT if we miss Champs league places and Hugo does decide to leave, Do you think we would make a run at Joe Hart. Does anyone know how long Hugo has left on his current deal. I think Hugo is a good as it gets but Hart wouldn't be a bad replacement in a worst case scenario
Hugo imo is gone in the summer. PSG most likely destination.
Other question..... with Jan & Harry signing have we now totally bust through our prev wage structure ?? I can believe Jan has signed for less/same as Eriksen/ Sissoko. Assuming our top paid player is now Harry (110K+ ???) & the sooner we can make Sissoko disappear, the better. I just hope we don't overpay for Lamela. Keep the money to secure Toby long term
I have a feeling Hugo is biding his time for a big wage increase and his final 5 year contract at somewhere like PSG. Would make a lot of sense for him and his family I guess. I think Joe Hart would be an good call to replace him since we are not likely to do much better elsewhere. Diamond, for what contracts are worth these days (basically bog paper) Hugo is under ours until June 2019.

I'd prefer if we sign the lad at Stoke if Hugo leaves us

Great Call, Or perhaps make Sunderland an offer they cant refuse for Pickford..... He's fantastic
Do people assume Hugo will be off to PSG purely because he's French? They always seem to be the mandated rumoured club for him for some reason....

Probably bc he's captain of France, has openly said he wants to play at the highest level and has never really done much to publically say how happy & committed he is at Spurs. If we don't make Champs league I wouldn't be shocked if he left in the summer

Just because he's the French captain it doesn't necessarily mean he wants to go to PSG!
With every game that Lamela doesn't play his stock increases, we are missing his pressing and industry very badly.
Lloris is a quiet person though. Even the players both at Spurs and France have said as much. Isn't always a loud character but will get people to listen when he speaks. So publically not saying much about his feelings towards Spurs is the norm for him.
I think GK wise there are some really good alternatives who we are able to attract. We just haven't been very good in scouting attacking players recently.

I honestly wouldn't trust our current scouting setup to find a suitable replacement, or we wouldn't spend the necessary money to get one. Would probably end up with Bogdan from Liverpool

sorry, cannot agree, We missed Toby, Harry & Rose (Last game) because they are our best/ most impactful players. Same could said of Hugo. I don't think the players that have replaced Lamela are inferior. I think our attitude/desire has been wrong for the past 2 months.... nothing to do with Lamela's "hustle". Its only my opinion but I think he's the weakest player in our best "first 11"
Lamela definitely isn't our weakest player of the starting eleven and you mention that the players aren't inferior but it's the attitude and desire which has been lacking but thats exactly what Lamela offers, every single game.

I say somewhere like PSG, its just a catch-all for me Ledders. Could be anywhere that can afford £150 grand a week and plays in the CL. I imagine he is desperate to collect a few medals between now and his 35th birthday so PSG would make sense. Obviously would like him to stay, if only to see his bloody distribution improve but I wouldn't bet on it.
Him staying or his distribution improving that is...

I agree.....his attitude is good but I don't see him as a game changer/winner. Other than Everton (opening day) and some Europa leagues last year I cant remember many MOTM performances. I still think he gets a pass because he was so bad when he started. I'm not a hater I just don't think he's that good
Put it this way... Rose & walker re far more important to us in creating chances for us from wide positions.... Granted that's because of the formation, but because Erik is so one footed its part of the reason our play is so narrow, he loses position to easily and sometimes creates too much congestion with Eriksen/Dele playing in the number 10 role. Its why he plays better away from home when we can play on the break/ in more space & not at home vs teams who park the bus (of which there are many)
