But he's won everything at Barca and everything at Bayern bar the CL you lunatic

Oh for goodness sake Mr C....that is the whole crux of the thread....he's been handed it on a feckin plate...Tony Pulis could've done that
Sheriff so you're not just basing this on results then. It's other criteria.

No...it's results in two horse race leagues with proven winner teams...are you seeing something else
You just said results is the criteria now its whether they're in a 2 team league. Is a 3 team league enough for you. Or do we have to stretch it to 4 or 6 or 20? you said results is the critiera. He gets results. Dont then say "oh well they were proven winner teams". Because its not just about results then is it.

Ok so the barometer is purely results based then? I'm just trying to work out your criteria.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Melton...is there any other criteria in football other than results..?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In a managers first season? Of course there is! There's whether the style of play is changing and if so whether it's clear there is a longer term strategy in place for a start.
No Barca...no Bayern
Pep out

First time out at this stage...I would've expected him to get further if I'm honest...given City's squad and money
If as I've said before he wins the CL with City in the next two seasons I'll hold my hands up...
Currently I'm unimpressed
It's becoming evident he's not going to adapt to the league or certain players inherited, so City are gunna have to adapt to him in the summer. Probably no exaggeration to say they're gunna need to spend 150mil+.
It could still work. City need to massively overhaul that squad anyway, and one thing Guardiola will guarantee is a concise, methodical recruitment strategy to build towards an identity - something previous City teams haven't had with random scattergun signings like Garcia & Bony... so even if it doesn't work with him, they'll be a set up in place to make their future appointments more logical than picking up the hottest available candidate.
No Champions League Cup,no Premier League Cup,no FA Cup,no League Cup...
He is rubbish!
Let's see if Pep can change my mind this week then....

City have a very overrated squad, and a defence that a mid-table team would want new signings for.
Pep isn't a genius, or the undisputed G.O.A.T, but he is a very good manager who changed a lot at Barcelona to make them winners.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll be expecting some VERY astute buying from him in summer...then we'll see
Why would you expect that given that's ultimtely not his job, it's Begiristains?
In certain facets, I actually would argue he's a genius btw. That doesn't mean he's necessarily the best at his job though. We do seem to be going with the lowest common denominator in terms of analysis in this thread though.

What...no input from pep....err ok then...what's the point of having him there if he's not calling the buys
I think you could do with doing a bit of research into how most European clubs are set up. He will have input but not to the extent that a "manager" in English terms would as they essentially split the role. The ability to get the players is more down to Begiristain
There is a lot of work to do in the summer though, fullbacks that don't need a walking stick for a start.
Is there an Ancelotti or Tuchel overrated article somewhere as well btw?
Sheriff doesn't rate any of that foreign guff.

I would hope for City's sake they give Guardiola a little more leeway than most clubs with a DoF model.
He's proven this season just how much of a fundamentalist he is, plan's B/C/D are all just different interpretations of plan A. If City don't sign players he identifies there's no point him being the manager going forward.
Thank god we didn't get him after all. Roman's deep admiration aside, the way we operate upstairs it would've been a match made in hell.
