No how could anybody justify their team losing? It doesn't matter if it is a friendly I want to win the game, if we lose it hurts less obviously but you still should always wanna win.
-----------
so when arsenal and man u were going for the league, and Ferdinand put us into the lead at OT on last day, where victory would have gifted arsenal the league, you are telling me you wanted us to hang on to the 1-0, rather than united come back and win, and with it win the league?
stop it mate.

Sometimes I think this ITK bollox has gone to his head
N'koudou - just arrived, give him a chance
Wimmer - did well when asked upon last season
Vorm - decent, as proved when he gets a run in the team
Carroll - fair point
Janssen - young, new to the league, even Poch said he was forced to bring him in too early by Kane's injury
Sunderland would be happy with most of them, unless you're 'ITK' with them too?

I think there is a difference to not wanting to win in order to stop a rival achieving success and not wanting to win because you are scared of your club being involved in another competition.
As I say by the time we get to Europa we will have played 25 EPL games and if we are in a good position we should give the youths and fringe players a run about. However if we have little to play for at that point then lets go all out.
For me winning the Europa or the FA cup is bigger success than coming second place. If we have any chance of winning the league then this has to come first however silverware is why we support our club.
Sunderland would not pick nkodou, wimmer, vorm, Carroll, even janssen.
----------
they would pick all of those players apart from carroll tbh, and maybe janssen simply because defoe and anichobe look to be building a good partnetship
"This notion of us struggling competing in two competitions is utter rubbish.
The problems are...
Our first 11 being very competitive with the leagues best but underneath it just utter dross. Sunderland would not pick nkodou, wimmer, vorm, Carroll, even janssen."

I had plenty to drink on saturday night and my hangovers do last for ages now, but have I misread or misinterpreted the above comments?
Surely he's just stated that all the talk that we CAN'T compete in two competitions as being "rubbish" indicates that he thinks we are capable of doing so?
Yet he then states we've got a good first 11 but everything after that is "dross", so how on earth can we compete in two competitions with 11 players, especially as he continuously gets a stonker when he thinks about 'Bielsa burnout'??????

I think there was a similar situation with Europa under Redknapp. I wanted us out of it as we didnt have the squad for both, but I watched it and was fuming we lost at home to go out in the group (the year we played the kids(
The best thing to do is not watch the game in situations like that I think. I cannot shake my frustration at us losing even if I want us to.
Pickford I would agree with as he obviously has a lot of ability
N'koudou hasn't had the opportunity to show what he can do yet, as such it's too early to judge whether he's better or worse than Januzaj. AJ hasn't done anything of note for ages, and it's not exactly a great indictment being a benchwarmer at Sunderland

Under Redknapp it was technically putting the team first....in terms of the league.
It is why I understand those that want to lose on Weds. I thought the same after Monaco, but have changed my mind

I want us to win and qualify for the Europa, but also want us to play reserves and a sprinkling of kids.
If somehow we advance to the business end of the Europa by playing fringe players, then integrate a few first teamers and have a good go at winning it.
It depends on how our league campaign pans out also, which must be our priority, but if we fall away from the top four then treat the Europa seriously.
Poch`s responsibility to cleverly manage things.
I just cannot agree guys your talking about what a 1000/1 chance that arsenal are finishing top and we are the only team in 9 other fixtures that could stop them by losing to their title rivals.
It has happened once in how many years? 100? It was horrible but i still do not think i would want my team to lose.
No mate if your so interested in what i say i always give people a chance im one of the only guys defending janssen but i am criticising our awful scouting network....
N'koudou - just arrived, give him a chance.
N'kodou is an out and out winger we do not play or use that position. Therefore wherever he plays is out of position technically speaking. I watch his positioning it is poor and he lacks the discipline of a poch player he also cannot hold position. I understand why everyone wants to give him a chance it is because theyve seen a few tricks but believe me You can see how a young player develops he will not develop anywhere near enough. I have also read reports on him from france (which is why i was shouting he was a rubbish signing and why i knew about njie before he signed- we are still laughed at in french football for that signing) NK is average as average can be...sadly. He would defo not start for sunderland. I would play khazri/van aanholt could be pushed there pienaar would also start ahead of him. Proven premier league player.
Wimmer - did well when asked upon last season.
Yes he did but he never wants to push always the bridesmaid never the bride. Backup at Koln backup for austria backup for us. If we want to improve we have to push on and he has been shaky since the euros. I dont believe he would start for sunderland.
Vorm - decent, as proved when he gets a run in the team
As i always say about vorm fine as a first choice keeper god awful backup cannot call upon him because he will be rusty. He played well at the start of the season you cry? Yes he did but he had started all the pre season games he was match fit then, he is not now. History shows his performances decline when coming in. Sunderland have pickford who everyone knows has been earmarked for england a long time (we nearly signed him last season and this!) sunderland also have this fantastic portuguese keeper called mika who is very very talented.
Carroll - fair point
Haha he was kept on due to registration rules. He also did not techincally sign a contract we exercised a rule in his contract to extend it. He will be gone soon, thank god. League one player and he never gave my phone charger back years ago so good riddance.
Janssen - young, new to the league, even Poch said he was forced to bring him in too early by Kane's injury
Janssen was scouted and bought by poch so poch has everything to lose by sidelining him. I think there is such a good potential player in janssen but i worry he wont fit our system some players just do not fit the system. He has so much scope there but he is doing the basics sobadly wrong i fear the league is too quick for him. Good player there he will do well for a club im not so sure for us under poch he fits. He does not get in ahead of defoe for sunderland or even the inform anichebe.

Wimmer backup for Koln?
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kevin-wimmer/leistungsdaten/spieler/122675/plus/0?saison=2014
32 league appearances in the season before he joined us. Wasn't 32 sub appearances for a few mins either
90 x 32 = 2,880. So he started 32/34 games.

Didn't even see that tbh but thanks for that.
LLM tries to live off some 'ITK' rep on here which he thinks gives him licence to spout a whole load of fictitious info that nobody will check or debate because of this rep.
I saw him claim that Wimmer is at the age where he needs to step up and be the leader in a CB pairing, yet then went and said that Phil Jones would flourish under Alderweireld's wing - despite Jones being about a year older than Wimmer.
He must have filtered me or he just gets all shy because everytime I call him out on his views with evidence to prove him wrong he never replies....

Wimmer backup for Koln?
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kevin-wimmer/leistungsdaten/spieler/122675/plus/0?saison=2014
32 league appearances in the season before he joined us. Wasn't 32 sub appearances for a few mins either
90 x 32 = 2,880. So he started 32/34 games.
Do you ever not talk out of your backside?

It's a chance to win a trophy.
You boys know what that is?

Those things that Liverpool used to win in the 80s?

Nah, those things that Spurs have hardly ever won
