Bro-nte has always used 3 at the back in his previous jobs.
I think the main man was just looking to see what he had at his disposal.
Sideshow.
I read about him using that very early in his career. Not even sure how that formation would work, the two CM's would have to be titans
If anything I think he was pretty aggressive bringing in it as soon as he did considering we don't have the ideal players in all positions for this system, but i understand why he did after the games agst Liverpool and Arsenal.
Think it stems from not knowing the squad and the seeds of doubt from the disaster that was last season
Signing Luiz and Alonso (and shifting out Baba) would indicate that he was thinking about 3-4-3 as his preferred formation. We started well but he must have realised Brana/JT couldn't hack it anymore.
I think he probably erred on the side of caution out of a sense of respect for the senior players.
Devil- if the other CM was Verratti I think it could work
(Use Oscar money to buy Verratti)
Haha, I didn't know this was the breaking 'news'

Actually you could argue shifting Baba was an indication that Conte wanted to stick with back four, seeing as Baba plays more like a wing-back than a fullback.
Wing-back system came into play post defeats, so afterthought.
Conte likely would have stopped Baba from leaving if intention was to play with wing-backs from the start.
I agree, contes failure was not using the 343 earlier

Nah, Alonso was bought to play a specific role. He's not a very good footballer but obviously follows instructions well.
Luiz is a very good player who excels in a 3. So planned.

And Jose's failure was not using it last season
What confuses me a lot as well is if conte likes 3 defenders systems why he got rid of cuadrado, who works well in this sort of system. Surely he should have kept cuadrado
Cuadrado wanted to play in Italy
You're telling me conte couldn't have convinced cuadrado that he had a part to play in our squad and that he should give playing in England another try?

Yeah perhaps. I remember Van Gaal aggressively enforcing it on United when he came in and got met with resistance from the squad, and he had a summer window to plan for it/train the players.
Considering how big of a tactical alteration it is, it might be one of those things where the players need to realize a change is necessary.

I honesty don't know enough about him. I know he's a creative player whose still young enough to run tirelessly for 90 mins, that immediately gives him the nod over Fabregas.
If Conte has identified him, and have the utmost faith he'll be good. Any manager who molds Moses into a quality wing back after one summer's break has my complete trust

He couldn't guarantee him game time and Cuadrado had already established himself in the Juventus squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Batshuayi had established himself in the Marseille squad and there was no guaranrtee of games at Chelsea. If conte had wanted cuadrado to stay he would have stayed and if conte had planned ahead he would have known he needed cuadrado

If I recall, and if reports are to be believed, part of what caused the friction between Conte and the Juventus board was their reluctance to sign Cuadrado despite his recommendations. So he's aware of his value to the system.
Moses has proven good enough to hold his own in the position, it's not a big loss to be honest.
Such argument. Much logic.
Oh whoops that sarcastic comment was for sidebro, not you adbrocat. Your comment was way better
