Celtic and Rangers colts in League 2

There's no doubt Alba will show them, and that means less money for your Falkirks and Raiths and more money for Rangers and Celtic. That's not helping our game either.

Wouldn't the TV money be split between the Colt team and the lower league club there are playing?

Or would it all go to Celtic and Rangers?

"The chance to win trophies at a senior level from a young age"

Again, where did I say they were likely to win things?

It would be split.

So instead of the money being split between Falkirk and Raith (for example), it would be split between Falkirk/Raith and Celtic/Rangers.

Which in conjunction with Celtic and Rangers being on the tv in alternative weeks at the moment with the first team, would mean even more tv money going to Celtic and Rangers, widening the gap even further between the haves and the have nots.

So instead of realising that the games being on TV could in fact be good for clubs in League 1 or 2 by getting a split of TV money with the colt teams you are saying it's actually a hindrance to the likes of Falkirk and Raith because they would have less games on TV?

For the record, even if this were to happen I can't see anyone other than BBC Alba wanting the rights for the games and I hardly think the money they are paying teams just now is earth shattering and probably only screen like 2 or 3 games a month?

Happy to be proved wrong on that one though.

Well...yes. That is what I'm saying.

I'm also saying that giving even more money to Rangers and Celtic rather than spreading the cash more equitably as it sort of is now won't help.

I only used those teams as an example by the way. Clubs like Airdrie have been featured on Alba this season, so it's not just Championship clubs.

My changes would involve a proper reserve league, a bigger top tier and massive changes to the infrastructure of the SFA. I would get rid of the stupid friendly rule at the start of the campaign, have a proper winter break and potentially introduce a "Premiership Cup" with only top tier teams to increase the fixtures (therefore cash flow) if we shorten the league campaign.

Reserve League - Perhaps, with certain stringent rules to who can play in the games.

Bigger top tier - Absolutely

Scrapping of the friendly - Lets be honest, it's there because whoever gets into Europe lose the chance to have a glamour tie to generate money due to European Qualifiers so I'm all for this one to stay.

Bigger winter break - How long do you think? We get bad weather from October to February usually so I guess the most obvious solution is summer football, something I'm totally for.

Premiership cup - Nah, not for me.

Say Celtic and Rangers waived any money as part of the deal to let it happen Ivan, would that alter your mind a little?

Silver - I said at the end of last season I wouldn't want a bigger top tier just because United were relegated. In fact I'd be very happy for it to come into force the season after United are promoted (whenever that would be).

I also think that Rangers and Celtic getting richer only makes the game more pointless here. The last few years have been terrific for me because you've felt that you've genuinely had a chance to win something, and many clubs have (apart from us ). I don't want to see us get back to a point where Rangers and Celtic gobble up 5 out of 6 trophies every two seasons. It's boring and kills our game.

Malky Mackay's prorities:

1. Import some tasty dogs in order to attract more Asian players

2. Hire a fat Jew to look after the money

3. Find some white faces worth considering

4. Hound out the Gay snakes

5. Get Celtic and Rangers colts into the league set up

All in his own words, in that order

Joke of a man, who is in no way qualified for this kind of post even without his crazy views.

It's not just about that though. It's about player progression and the hovering up of talent too. There are lots of issues.

I think Premier Sports were showing Irn Bru cup games and would likely have an interest in showing the colt games, as those were the games they featured in that competition. As a pay per view company they'd want ratings so the obvious choice would be to go for the colt games.

Celtic or Rangers will hoover up the best talent regardless Ivan, not having a Colt team will not change that fact.

Sorry - winter break. I'd like it to be for 2 weeks as a minimum, ideally 3 weeks. It's less about the weather and more about letting players/pitches have a rest from relentless winter football. The players could recover from injuries and niggles and would ideally be in a better place to see out the campaign. It would also allow the wealthier clubs to do some warm weather training.

I appreciate there are issues with cashflow for clubs in winter which might be a stumbling block.

I'd also support summer football btw.

But they may linger at Rangers and Celtic longer rather than making the move to the first team of a lower end Premiership club.

The whole premise of this is to improve Scottish football, and for me it only seems designed to improve two clubs. That's the fundamental flaw in the strategy.

Summer football is a no brainer, but who are we kidding?

Football compared to all other sports is absolutely terrified of change. Especially in this country.

None of this is important.

We have a system that won't allow change anyway. So we'll talk about it, debate it then vote it down and continue the status quo

Still not really addressing the real issue but, our coaches are not good enough at teaching young people how to play football.

Until someone is brave enough to publically say that and challenge them nothing will change.

Their is no pressure or expectation placed on anyone in the youth scene. Imagine you told an academy director players from his programme had to play in 150 game every three season for him to keep his job.

How quickly do you think half the coaches across the county would lose their job.
