When Arsenal went trophyless for 9 years we were consistently reminded of it by fans and the media. Why not for Spurs and Liverpool?

When Arsenal finished top 4 every year we were told this is not an achievement. So why do the media now make it out to be for Spurs and Liverpool?

Interesting topic here. On the whole, I'd say liverpool are getting away with it a bit, not that it particularly concerns me.

There was a time when you literally couldn't read a single media article about arsenal without the trophy drought being mentioned. And this was 5 years into the drought.

Remember, we needed the cash to pay off the stadium. For some reason we didn't want our owner to put his own money in to it. Now you get that money and more, simply by virtue of being in the league.

The media spun it into some massive thing, not us. We weren't good enough to win the league, and they needed to market the league, so they used our target of CL qualification to spin top 4 into some massive thing, when it really wasn't. I'm not complaining too much, I guess it helped us stay relevant.

I think what gets up my back more than anything about Arsenal, is what exactly is holding them back.
Their fans are paying through the nose.
They are easily one of the worlds richest clubs.
Commit a little, and Arsenal will be a serious problem for rivals.
It’s serious mismanagement, and praying on fans heartstrings when it comes to Wenger.
Now admittedly, I want Wenger to stay forever.
Cos he isn’t a threat.
I don’t think it matters how good the quality of players you bring in. It’s the mentality that has to change.
For Arsenal to move forward, he has to go.
You’re the 6th richest club! Dammit, act like it!
