Serial,
You may have an opinion but don't just say that it's an uneducated article regarding such issues. I got info from Cricinfo & there are at least two articles recently about Kyle and many similar in the past. So in your view all of them are uneducated articles?
I meant in general that players like Kyle or Morgan shouldn't be able to represent England since they have already played international cricket for their respective countries. I don't have any issues with county representation..
Regarding IPL, I'm not a fan and many Indians don't like it or happy that foreign players make money and it helps them become better players for their countries. You will never see any foreign IPL player playing for India. It gives way too much money to some players who are not worth it and overall not helped India that much. It's more taken as fun or entertainment.
Yes and that money for the IPL has meant that many players have turned their back on international cricket because they can protect their livelihood with a big pay day.
It's exactly the same concept to what Kyle Abbot has done. Neither has ANYTHING to do with a Morgan style example. They are 2 completely separate circumstances and that is why I called the article so.
David Wiese has signed for Sussex on a 3 year deal as a Kolpak and Merchant De Lange looks like he's on his way as a Kolpak to Glamorgan.
Thanks Wonder for the info!!
Serial,
It's not same as majority of IPL players don't give up playing for their respective countries where as Kyle gave up his test career. There is a pattern if you agree or not especially with SA players leaving for England. Now few players from West Indies gave up as they had other issues with WICB & not related to IPL. We all know how WICB runs it's business!
Also some players were not fit any more to play longer formats but IPL gave them option to make decent livelihood.. But overall it didn't help India in Test format and did more damage to our team. You also have to see positive side that it helped many players to play better for their international teams. I can't say much any positive stuff for SA in such scenarios. Please you can enlighten us how it is not negative for SA or why SA captain is so worried about it? Do you think Faf is just paranoid?
Thanks in advance pal..
I completely agree it's a danger for South African cricket but you can't pinpoint it to the ECB throwing money at things. We don't pay massive wages in county cricket. I think it highlights how poorley run a lot of international cricket boards are to be honest and I don't blame these players coming to England to make a better living for themselves.
What I don't want to get confused is this muddying the non Englishborns playing for England.

You know I'm talking sense sense when I said the only reason England won in SA was because Steyn and Philander were injured. Hell even the backup Abbot had a few injury issues during that series. England got lucky no doubt.
South Africa should have battered better then.. no wait they didn't.
