I've just made a huge humble pie for the likes of our resident gloom monger Uncle Herbie, who must be sent the largest slice. Gem will get one sent to Mallorca for his outburst before the game too.

Hats off to the lads who performed well and PL for his brave team selection and so glad he shut a few on here up.

Why you lot berate a decision before a ball is kicked amazes me.

You should keep faith with a manager who is trying to sort out the huge squad he inherited and is doing his utmost to get us playing well.

Just because the likes of Saville, Evans, Iorfa and Hause played out of their skins knowing that they are on the short list and doesn't make that midfield any better looking or the defence suddenly become a brick wall. If he played the same starting 11 against Villa on Saturday (which he won't) it will be back to the same old carp that we became so used to last season

Concentrate on a mid-table finish?!
Let's see what we learn about a midfield of Saville and Evans today.
Lambert is a cheat and coward.

What an afternoon that was, phew, who would have predicted that result after seeing that midfield. Williamson was immense at the back marshalling the defence and it seemed to give an immense amount of confidence to Hause who was outstanding winning everything in the air. The away support again was amazing and I'm sure I saw jody craddock amongst the fans. Anyway Big D should have had at least one goal in the first ten minutes and possibly two, saying that dicko should have made it 3 towards the end.

Confidence is brimming now and roll on da villa.

Yes I would.
Morgan Gibbs-White is a talented young player who was playing in an attacking lineup with 3 other strikers. There was no real pressure on him to do anything spectacular and he didn't. He played well however and didn't seem out of place. Well done to the boy and good luck to him for the future. I still think this was the wrong game to blood him though.

According to Tim Spiers, Williamson was MofM, Gem. He played well with Batth in the games they teamed up together before he got crocked.

Give PL the chance to assess ALL his squad before you and others throw him under the bus. All the pre game crap I read on here from you and others, before a ball was kicked was totally uncalled for.

Give the friggin' manager a chance and a little slack.

Williamson probably made the biggest difference to the side today. And also let's not forget that Ikeme made 4 world class saves to keep us in it.

Darn good job you're not the manager then Gem.

Same could be said for you. Oh no, I forgot byou have never, ever been wrong about anything have you?

Ikeme did make some world class saves, but that's because we probably have one of the best 'keepers in this league. He may have kept us in the game, but by the same token, had Bodvarsson netted the two he missed early on, those saves may not have mattered.

I just wish folks on here would give a new manager more slack during his early days.

Wolfie hits the nail on the head with a sledgehammer.

We were all wrong (except Wolfie) and we should say sorry to Paul and the club.

Sorry, Paul and the club

My assessments of players and managers of our great club are generally made having watched, read or seen them over a long period of time. My opinions are also made based on the above. But to slam a manager who is doing his best and selects a side that beats a team that does very well at home, deserves a pat on the back, don't you think?

He deserves a pay rise at the very least. On WM just now, glorifying the magnificent fans and eulogising the size of Wolverhampton Wanderers football club.

Great free kick. Doc is the best striker of a ball at the club.

The bar has been set now, Lambert has got the players brimming with confidence who knows where we could be at the end of the season (2 Wembley appearances 😉). I think he needs to keep Williamson and Hause at cb for the weekend we have not had a cb like Williamson since jody craddock it's just a pity he's at the end of his career.

What you and others seem to forget Wolfgang is that PL inherited a whole bunch of players who came to the club via an agent overseas. Just look at the squad today and you'll notice that only 2 are from that bunch. That should be a little hint as to what PL's intentions are. Some of the players he picked today were 'fringe' players, who he may have wanted to have a look at before making his final decisions. Other were not and haven't been featured at all for weeks.

Give the guy a bleeding' chance. He's doing his best and if his best does't suit yours or others agenda's, then as you say, that's your problem.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Williamson too. He showed great promise in the few games he did start way back and could certainly give Batth a much needed confidence boost. If he stays fit, I'd certainly give him an 12 month extension next season, if only to get us promoted next time around. However, if the confidence grows and the performances of late stay the same or get even better, then who knows where we'll end up at the end of the season.

The biggest thorn in our side right now, is playing at home. Get that right and.....

I do think Lambert has a selection decision after today because I don't think anyone would begrudge Williamson, Hause, Iorfa or Evans keeping their place on their showings today. Keeping two successive clean sheets using 7 different defenders, maybe we don't need a new centre back after all. Time will tell.

Felt like turning round on the m6 and going home when I saw Saville and Evans as the central midfield pair but they both did well.

Mason on the left didn't work, and Enobakhare needs to improve but Bodvarsson gave their defence the run around in the first half and came close twice and he is a good leader of the line.

And good to see another youngster come on and not look out of place. In recent years we have seen some kids come into the team and look scared of the prospect but this latest group are certainly not short of confidence and I'm sure we'll see plenty more of Ronan and Gibbs-White
