funny how when the team is doing well the liverpool fans trumpet last summer's net spend trophy, and claim their squad is strong enough.
few dodgy results and they all want to spend spend spend (throwing insults at the owners - who have spent heavily over the past few years - if they don't get a shiny new toy).

yes, because i came to that conclusion solely on the basis of the OP.
I've seen plenty of fans say that the club needs cover for Mane, as if a) no one knew that he was african, and likely to go off to the ACON and b) every club needs specific cover for a player who will be absent for 4 weeks every two years.

I think what you've done here is make the mistake of thinking a few reactionist posters on JA606 sum up the general feeling.
Most fans I know and speak to neither want nor expect money to be thrown at the problem. If you want to know what most are thinking it's how to get the best out of Sturridge, what's happened to Origi recently and whether Ojo might be ready for a few minutes off the bench.
But that type of sensible discussion probably wouldn't interest you.

funny, because it takes me all of about 90 seconds to find a few articles on your board in the last 16 hours calling for investment in the team, and plenty of comments on other threads calling for the same.

The Utd board after a loss will bring out the idiots as well. Very club has them.
What you're essentially doing is listening to the Liverpool versions and accepting it as the common view.
To be fair we don't need a loss to bring out the idiots on our board.
I do take your point, toys get thrown out of a lot of prams when a result goes the wrong way, but for sure I don't remember too many complaints about the thinness of the squad when there was a united squad vs liverpool squad "debate" a few weeks back.

Squads can look artificially strong with form and fitness. Think that's the main factor. Players such as Can, Firmino (albeit not yesterday), Origi and Sturridge haven't been playing well. Squad looks a lot weaker on that situation.
