Favourite white players

Dennis Bergkamp

Don't know about "favourite", but I'd have Pires, Vieira and Henry as the first 3 names on my team sheet.
Having met some of them, I'd probably have Shezza, Lehmann and Eboue round for a party.

Bergkamp not on anyones list? Not a gooner myself jsut thought he was a special talent

a lot of the people on this site are younger generation supporters (it seems to me) and they will always go with Henry, Pires, Vieria etc...., older fans (like myself) would be more likely to go with Bergkamp..
that said, I commented earlier that mine were Pires, Wright and Charlie Nicholas... but that's a age thing.
Arsenal have had, to be fair, a good few quality players to choose from.
Why would younger people go for Vieira but not Bergkamp? Vieira left before Bergkamp
Top players.
1) Paul Davis
2) Henry
3) Vieira

Henry was awesome dont get me wrong but he was defo helped so much by someone like Bergkamp, not only for bergkamps vision but the position he played in to open spaces up for Henry to exploit....In my eyes Dennis was the most important player in Henry's career if you get what I mean.

na not at all chief ... it wasnt just all about assists with bergkamp it was the way he played off Henry. in that number 10 role defences had to come out to pressure him which in turn ruined their shape and gave henry the space to then exploit. Im taking nothing away from Pires they two obv had a special relationship both on and off the pitch

My most fav player. Kept the midfield running with simple passes. We used to be so defensive minded but having Paul just opened the midfield. I loved Rocky but Paul was so crucial to keeping things moving and fluid. Of course he had a terrific right hook. And as a kid nothing better than seeing someone taking no sh1it from anyone.

Dennis was terrific but it is arguable that both Wright and Henry made Dennis drop back and find his niche. They made the runs that utilised his creativity. Henry on the other hand could make goals out of nothing and was just as good with Wiltord, Pires, Freddie, Kanu and Vieira. The invincibles were just such a top group. That Wayne Bridge goal haunts me today. We should have won the Champions League as well going the season unbeaten.
Its subjective really, the best player ever at Arsenal was arguably Henry.... but despite him being great, I preferred other players.
I like Pire, Nicholas and Wright, but could easily have mentioned, Limpar, Merson, Alan Smith, Rocastle, Adams, Brady, McLintock, Samson, Groves, Bergkamp, O'Leary, Graham etc.
better to say under AW or pre-Aw maybe!
