Ironically we're missing big Dave has well

the extra height and strength of him in CM would be very welcome right now.

had the nack of arriving in the box for a few goals for us too.

still slightly perplexed about how badly he got chucked under the bus

If were worrying about missing Dave we may as well all pack it in now.

Were 5th, we wouldn't be any higher with him in the side.

haha just be nice to not see our CMs get bullied constantly

I had Diagoraga down as our key man this season. Thought he'd be a big player for us. Alarm bells rang when Monk kept playing him at centre half in the weaker pre season sides. As for the game, all bar one of the YEP pundits went for 1-1, I can see us doing a classic late 2-1 win

0-3 Wood, Bartley and Douk

Don't get me wrong Dave was decent last season but judging on what Monk has done for us up to now I trust his judgement....were 5th and playing some good stuff at times.

What's Rudy Austin up to? Haha

I'm going for 1-2 to us! Wood of course plus Jansson.

rudy with the right manager like monk would have been huge for this team.
i'm going for a non heart threatening 3-0 win.
wood, hernandez, and wood again.

If their centreback pairing is a little delicate and sore from injury and absense then they ain't going to want pacy wingers.

If I was monk I would be telling wood to bully them and if douk is playing I would tell him to be cutting in and getting at them.

Either way it's a game we should be winning and at this stage of the season I expect nothing less then a win.

Diagouraga better player than Austin.

^^^^ I didn't see any evidence of that when they played for us

I'd place Austin in this team ahead of Dave if both were at the club currently.

And I say that as someone who was critical of Austin for a long part of his time with us

Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

OR

Human nature is we tend to remember the good and forget the bad?

Austin was unplayable...... Once a month. He could have been so much better. He had it all but didn't bring it enough

Jonny - Sorry not rose tinted glasses at all , Rudy on his day is the only LUFC Player in recent years who could storm from our penalty area through to theirs like a rhinoceros with attitude. OK the end result had an habit of finding row Z but can't remember him being bullied.

Shaun said it best, I think:

"Austin was unplayable...... Once a month."

Aside from hitting row Z, his distribution was often awful.

Good player on his day, one out of every 5 days.

Not good enough,

Plus even if he was having an off day he always look like cared.

Jonny - my point is since Ruby's 1 in whatever the number is we have never had a midfielder who could intimidate the opposition and that is one of many reasons why we kept finishing 13th - hopefully Monk is going to remedy that.

Ruby - FFS I give up - Aghhhh!
