Just done some research which really throws the cat among the pigeons.
The average lift can hold 1000-6000 lbs........The average Asian elephant weighs 12000 lbs
The elephant isn't getting to the top.

No can do gem, health and safety, can't have the fire escape blocked in case of fire.

If we are considering health and safety, there will need to be a good area cleared around the Shard before the jump. Logistical nightmare in central London.
I think it is becoming apparent that Blue didn't think this article through and that we need to forget about this Elephant/Gerbil/Anvil experiment he is suggesting, at least until more research is conducted.

I just don't think he realised how much planning was needed for this kind of experiment. It's possible but there is no way he will get it done before the game on Friday.
The elephant was parachuted in from a 747 cargo plane, who'd be stupid enough to try to get an Asian elephant in a lift?

If he's a better manager than Zola then he's certainly a better manager than Paul Lambert and Agent Bruce for that matter!
How much parachute training has the elephant had? The 747 would be traveling at some velocity. Would an elephant fit on a 747 and wouldn't it lose cabin pressure? Surely you would be better using a C-17A Globemaster with cargo doors?
I think a Chinook helicopter would surely be the carrier of choice as i just think any aircraft travelling at speed would be far to risky and would be highly unlikely to be accurate and we can't just waste Elephants trying, though of course the anvil could be used again for each subsequent attempt.
Alright, so forget the Chinook, not enough height clearance at 78 inches, even female Asian Elephants are on average 93 inches.
Blue would need to specify the age of said elephant before any more analysis.
You obviously have the Asian elephant in a sling underneath the Chinook, not inside the actual helicopter for feck's sake!
Why not just drop the anvils, elephants and gerbils out of the cargo plane at a neutral location? Would be much easier to organise.
Yeah, somewhere sparsely populated where there shouldn't be any injuries, St Andrews would be my first suggestion.

Had no idea that Zola was having trouble walking by the way.
Zola doesn't have the decency to walk. The Chinese owners will have to sack him, thus admitting they made a massive mistake sacking Gary Rowett, thus losing massive face - a massive no-no for those people.
