de Sart's goal was against Cardiff. He gave the ball away too easily last night and a better team than Burton would have capitalised yet they made him MotM.

Ince's corners, inswingers to the middle of the goal. Thankyou very much said their goal keeper.

Bent's miss was not quite as bad as Taylor's for Bristol but was perhaps the defining moment of the evening. If I could be bothered I would do an analysis of the games we have won when Bent starts compared to Martin even though Bent's goals per game is excellent.

Couldn't see what Camara brought to show but Nugent did add a bit of nouse up front. I think he should start the next game.

At least you and VC are happy.

Spart. Thanks for the correction. I have edited the original to say Cardiff game.

I agree with your other points which are well made. Thanks.

A farir assessment 3R. Particularly the bit about Bent ducking under headers. He's beginning to infuriate me as much as the fish did for this

We go on about 'The Derby Way' of fast flowing, entertaining football. Something Clement was sacked for. I see little improvement from this. Too slow, patient, building from the back, sideways, backwards, no momentum, no impetus.

How can we get a steam going, get the crowd going with all the negative, 5hite football??

And our set pieces are 5hit, as ever too. We float the ball into the box at corners without anyone on the keeper to stop him catching it with consummate ease.

5hit.

Anya gave a brilliant display of ball juggling before the game. He has pace to spare and good close control but can't shoot or pass a ball. Surely these things can be coached. Isn't that Steve McClaren's strength.

Thanks 3R.

After failing to score at home to both Wigan and Burton, anyone who thinks we will reach the PO's needs their bumps feeling.

Our first nine games under the loonie yielded 6 points. In the second half of the season under the judas or the messiah (which ever is your viewpoint),the first 9 games have yielded 9 points. A 50% improvement, but a 50% improvement on not very much is still not very much.

I can't even be bothered to analyse the game thats how bad it was.

Wigan, Bristol City, Cardiff and Burton home games have yielded 2 points. I bet Rotherham have a better record than that.

Should say 3 points, had a Strett moment there.

Correct Spart, they got 4 points from their home games against the same opposition:
Beat Wigan 3-3
Draw Bristol 2-2
Lost Cardiff 1-2
Lost Burton 1-2

Not much to say about last night, other than I'm disappointed I am not one of Those Who Did Not Attend.

Call it defeatist, whatever, but I think the time has come to start looking a bit harder at next season, what system, what players, and start planning for an important summer

Paul Clements Derby way. Don't pass unless you have someone to pass too. Ended up going sideways and backwards until the left back hoofed it under pressure.

We created 1? shot on target last night, and 1 one other decent chance??

Bent offers virtually nothing apart from occasionally being in the right place for a tap-in.

FFS they played a 6/4/0. Get some creativity on there earlier with Vydra and Nugent, surely.

posted on 22/2/17

Whenever Vydra has played he has done nothing. Don't know why he had scored a few before he came to PP. Same goes for Blackman. Who is it who assesses these players before spending money on them? I mean who, specifically?

Thanks 3R
Just watched the highlights on RP. Looks like they were struggling to fill the 10 minute slot.
Don't think I'll be watching the full 90 minutes, on this occasion

I, of course, blame Keogh.

He had nothing to do and did it averagely. If only he hadn't wasted his one-goal-per-season in the EFL Milk Trophyspoons Cup, or whatever it was, then he might just have offerd a threat at a set piece or something.

Considering every one of you happy clapper berks who continue to vote for the stuttering halfwit for PoTY tells me he's a footballing centrehalf, where's the evidence? Why isn't he, as captain, grabbing the game by the scruff, taking the ball to the Burton line and pressing their massed ranks? I'll tell you why, because he's bang average.

Ain't nothing but a shop-steward union loving loudmouthed moaning primadonna non-tackling embarrassment to the shirt, he isn't. Captain? Fck off.

posted on 22/2/17

Ah well, there's progress. Keogh has now improved to "average". Keep it up Richard.

Whilst I'm on about RamsPlayer, I was disappointed with the content last night. If that was an example of what the commentary will be like when Mel takes over the coverage, I don't think I'll be subscribing.
RD gets plenty of stick, but apart from being factual & accurate, at least it's entertaining & fun !

posted on 22/2/17

Being merely 'average' this season probably puts him well in the running for the Jack Stamps Trophy

Will you be voting for CB4 again this season, 666 ?

I can't agree with your optimism this week Ramdini, especially about Christie. He had a shocker, give me Baird at right back any day and when Baird plays there Ince does better. Last night Ince wasn't at his best, but Nigel put 2 or 3 players on him and he only escaped once when Burton had their only attack, only to over run the ball.

As I said on another post Anya and Camara are a waste of space and I hope I never see them play for us again. Why Nugent wasn't put on at half time I don't know, I would rather have Vydra on the left than the 2 clowns.

De Sart tries hard and is a young lad, but some of his passes were very poor and he is another lightweight. Is Johnson injured? Why oh why haven't we got a proper defensive midfield player? It's been the same since Thorne got his first injury.

Igor I am not happy with Derby's display last night. I was pleased for our ex manager, but our display was very bad against a poor team. Naylor is a poor player but none of our expensive stars could get past him, he worked like the rest of the Burton side.

People say we need a lot of new players next season. Yes we do, but who is going to chose them? I wouldn't trust our Management and scouting team to buy a bag of crisps.
