Klopp doesn't like his lack of movement and work rate I think.

Busby I think Studge has good hold up play and isn't exactly static.

Sure LFC fans know more watching him more regularly than me. Buy with a 20+ a season striker you have to adapt for him surely? Until someone more suited comes along?

Sturridge is no longer a 20 goal a season striker, you have obviously not been watching him since Suarez left

You are right I haven't watched him a lot, hence my question.

Are you saying he is finished?

In a word yes...he doesn't sprint anymore and he is mentally shot

I wouldn't say finished but I don't think he can play in a high intensity team any more. He doesn't trust his body it would seem. His pace has also gone, either that or he doesn't properly sprint anymore. It's a shame but it's been too long now to be just feeling his way back in.

If he could find a team that would allow him to be a classic number 9, penalty box player, then he could still score regularly. That's not us though. It's not many teams these days.

He's had game time and been woeful.

However he has always been poor when playing as a lone striker. Look at his career when he scores goals he has a strike partner i.e Suarez and Kevin Davies (I know)

Klopp has tried everything other than actually play 4-4-2. This formation may not work against Arsenal but will be more effective against the lesser teams.

He will leave in the Summer and be a success wherever he goes

Perfect addition for Spurs if they could get a deal done, allow them to get rid of the dutch dud.

he's no more a 20 goal a season striker currently than ian rush is in the stands

he's absolutely toast.

Moussa Dembélé will leave Celtic Park and Sturridge will be his replacement is my prediction.

Celtic would not pay his wages. There's not enough money in Scottish Football to justify it.

Depends how much they could get for Moussa Dembélé.Could easily offer Sturridge a nice signing on fee.

He doesn't do what Klopp asks of his players. He could easily bang 20 in a season, playing in the most systems in the league, for example United's. However not in the current Liverpool one. Perhaps it's something we need to re-think anyhow as results are not going for us.

This is the most sensible thing I've read on Sturridge!

Its very similar to the Agreuo situation and all very bizzare if you ask me!

I agree toor

I think he is too good a player to not at least give a go with a change of tactics.

No wum here but klopp and pep with sturridge and aguerro is a real mystery. No way you let strikers like that be sacrificed for whatever ideal you have about the game. Especially if things are going bad in the way they are for you guys.

I don't mind Daniel being greedy, long may it continue. What he hasn't displayed when given the chance is commitment. Last time on the field he possessed an amply demonstrated the lightening speed of a cart horse.

Sturridge has not won a tackle all season. Infact, he has not lost a tackle either. Basically, he hasn't even attempted one. Has just 1 interception too. For a manager who demands the hard graft like Klopp, that clearly is a no-no.

Comparing his situation with Aguero is wrong too. Aguero is still producing the goods when he plays. Sturridge isn't. Looked woeful everytime I've seen him. I'd be delighted if he starts against Arsenal and we're spared of the pressure of Liverpool's frontline. Will never happen though. I just see Sturridge as having had one injury too many and he's mentally shot.

Yeah, Firminio and Mane really got stuck in and round the back last night.....you can see why Sturridge doesn't get a run

I have been saying this for 3 seasons now. I have never seen him make a tackle ever in a Liverpool shirt. Pathetic!!

Do you guys think the laxadaisacal displays are a result of injury or toys out the pram due to not getting games?

If I recall Studge can be a Moody git from back in Bolton days

posted on 28/2/17

Sturridge actually has shown very little form for nearly 3 years now.

He's had little spells but they don't last long.

When you look at his career as a whole then 2013-14 was the exception, not the norm.

You could say why doesn't Klopp play him every game and set the team up for him, but why should he when others players work and train harder than he does and put their bodies on the line? What sort of message does that send out to the squad?

He doesn't play because he's always injured/ill/thinks he injured whatever.

It's up to him and he hasn't done enough.

Sturridge is a busted flush.......

And to think he was hailed by some as the best English striker

I hope I'm wrong but it looks like injuries have ruined him.
He is a quality player when on form.

posted on 28/2/17

Didn't work out at City,Chelsea and now Liverpool.
Looking past injuries there is clearly an over-confidence problem from the player. Been at 3 of the biggest clubs his whole career and has never done it bar one season with Suarez who would have got 15 goals out of anyone as their strike partner.
