You can't just look past injuries though. That's as idiotic as judging a striker and looking past his goals

Injuries have massively effected Sturridge's career, from lack of play time to recently his pace, which is important for a striker

If you look at non-penalty goal ratios in PL history, there are very very few who surpass Sturridge

Lots surpass Sturridge.

He has played for Liverpool, Chelsea and City. He should have 100 league goals......but having a good ratio for a few seasons doesn't make him as good as people believe.

Erm no lots don't surpass Sturrdige when it comes to non penalty goal ratios in PL history, that's just a fact

Who.....

Aguero and Henry

They clearly surpass Sturridge.

But apart from Carroll I don't know any first choic strikers who don't play football....

No point trying to talk facts with Arouna.

He's a post truther.

So a striker tha doesn't play.... well.

Lots surpass him.

The fact he has only managed 80ish league appearances since he signed tells me all I need to know. Accept he is a busted flush, a Chris Sutton, a Markus Stewart....flash in the pan

He's another one of those bargain basement signings we've brought in, in the absence of the kind of signings that show serious intent.

It now seriously hangs on what FSG and Klopp do in the summer, this season is all but over now... bar the kind of consistent performance that has eluded us for over a year now.

I just hope after the game when that bunch of mediocre, overpaid buffoons tucked themselves into their 100k cars for the short drive back to their million pound properties to spend the evening in splendid isolation they considered long and hard how much pain and frustration they cause fans of all backgrounds who consistently week in and week out pay tickets to attend games or indirectly finance their pampered lifestyles through Sports channel subscriptions.
Week after week I walk past cars like Clynes at the back of the Main Stand, just briefly reassuring myself that all that overt wealth is probably justified if they play in a way that justifies the red shirt, and yet I see the utter disgrace they bring to the club in the way they turned up against clubs like Wolves and Leicester.

Sturridge isn't a 20 goal a season striker. He's managed it once.

He would be if he managed 38 games a season

But he never will so yeah you're right

Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't. Hard to say, fact is he isn't.

He's a talented striker, though. Not looked the player he was a few years ago. I think his career will only go downhill from here, to be honest. Don't think he'll find a team as good as Liverpool, plus he's crocked, which is a shame for England - though he's not particularly good for us, but it's aways good to have the options.

Oh shut your noise and fack off you boring priick, yes we know you go to Anfield every other week, yes we know your cup is brimming over with negativity. If I can't stand listening to any more of your bollox then I'm damn sure your fellow Liverpool fans can't either, so why don't you give it a facking rest before I cut your facking tongue out and start using it as a novelty loofer you turdsniffer.

Even when fit he isn't picked that's why I said look past the injuries. He has a mentality problem, thought he was at Suarez levels. I think it comes from the terraces personally, stupidity that is.

Yeah but injuries have made him decline in performance, the Sturridge of 2013 would walk into Liverpool's team

Yes it was because the original debate before you got involved was whether injuries are relevant to Sturridge's current ability

Nope, they are not. He had one good s a son along side Suarez.

He hasn't been a regular 20 goal a season player.

Due to injuries. He's up there with the very best in terms of goals to games. This has all been said already throughout the article. I know it's difficult for you but do try to keep up with the flow of the conversation.

Not sure that petulant whining was quite justified. My comments are balanced and always predicated on our performance. If they have been overtly negative just recently then perhaps that is only proportional to our recent results.

Might have guessed you'd have been up there encouraging him. Sadly it looks like your mate is currently locked out, probably justifiably so.

I wasn't encouraging anything, I just found it funny, hence laughing. You should try it sometime. Being down in the dumps all the time must get very boring.
