What will be our approach on Sat?

We will go out all guns blazing then get caught on the counter I bet Klopp cant wait to play us

We won't need to go defensive as a tactic cos Liverpool's intensity and high press will force us to retreat. They've dominated our 2 matches under Klopp and will likely do the same this time too.
If we're effective enough on the counter and set-pieces, we have the tools to hurt them. But our shambles of a defense should let them in too.

Difficult one to predict, but our known spinelessness in big games certainly makes them favourites.

Liverpool will almost certainly play better in this game. They'll be highly motivated.

Like you said. This Liverpool team are relatively easily defeated with the right tactics. We can't allow to much space in behind, and be have to be solid down the wings.

If Wenger plays his usual way, we will lose. We'll just constantly get battered down the wings, and on the break. Even Sutton at times managed to hurt us with pace.

Liverpool have plenty of weaknesses. We should be able to out play them in midfield, and our attackers can damage their week defence for sure. We have to be cautious at the back, be prepared for counters, and not give away easy passes all the time, allowing them to break. Need wingers to help fall backs, and the DM to sit to help break up any counter. I believe if we are solid at the back, our forwards will score and we can win 2-0 at least

We should be able to out play them in midfield

I can absolutely guarantee you that this will not happen.

Our mf has been the weakest it has been for years. Pool will batter us in mf

Did you hear about that man who put his false teeth in backwards? He ate himself

If Lucas plays you will win. He is so slow and is easily bullied. Our midfield is very good in the pressing department but when you can get to our defence they wil collapse. We have only 2 good defenders in Matip and Clyne the rest are average.

I worry about our midfield. We need Santi back but without him we dont really have a good pairing that can dominate other teams, unless they are very poor like Swansea.

I have no confidence in our manager or the team he will put out to get a result at Anfield. A few months ago, maybe, but atm it will take a real turn around in performance to get a result.

And as for tactics Wenger will do the same as every other game. He only looks at his own players who are available when deciding tactics and not the opposition, he has said so himself.

Should opt for

Cech
Bellerin Mustafi Koscielny Monreal
Xhaka Oxlade-Chamberain
Lucas Alexis Welbeck
Giroud

Dont care about the subs. Ozil will not turn up if he's fine or ill. Play Alexis in the hole. Use the pace and quality of Welbeck and Lucas. Play the in form centre mid of the Ox, next to Xhaka who is our best player to play deep.

Iwobi, Walcott, Coquelin must be dropped.

You just know Iwobi will be playing

No point defending away to Liverpool.

We just have to try to outscore them as usual.

All their best results have come when teams try to attack them, and their worst when they get countered.

Agreed. Why don't we just watch the Leicester game and do what they did?

Are our players not capable of that?

We adopted the appropriate tactics once away to City which apparently the players decided to do not Wenger.

Other than that it's the same old away from

We haven't been able to keep the ball since Santi broke down. We also can't realistically sit back and wait to hit Liverpool on the counter.

I say we throw everything we can at them. Only way we'll get a result.

posted on 1/3/17

We could get out pressed in midfield. I think we still have players capable of winning the battle on paper . Just their passing recently has been dire. Not able to complete simple balls at times. They can do better than that! But any big game they just crumble! So people are right, probably will get out played in midfield in this game

Very true.

Probably playing Liverpool at the right time, after their last game the onus will be on them to attack, so hopefully we can pick them off on the counter.

We should be fine as long as someone decent stays on Mané for 90 minutes.

You can't exactly spring an offside trap against Speedy facking Gonzalez.

I like SupermanTheo's line up except that I will drop Giroud and play a mid field three of Ox, Xhaka and Le Coq. Front interchangeable three of Lucas, Alexis and Welbeck
Let's burn Liverpool with pace!

posted on 2/3/17

Agree with that lineup, play 3 in midfield and the 3 forwards interchanging.

You know Wenger wont go for it though.

If Arsenal win it will be totally unexpected

We are a shambles without Santi in Mf. We have been absolutely battered recently at anfield but still managed to get a couple of draws.

We have the players to hurt them but we are shocking against teams that press us
