india aust 3rd test match

turn yr back for ten minutes and there's another two men been and gone.

187/7, india in trouble in this match but more worryingly for them, they seem to have no clue how to play spin on what is by no means as tricky a track as some they've played on this last couple of years. if they lose this test, they'll need results wickets in the next couple of tests, but you have to favour aus rather than india to benefit from big tuners right now.

mind you, australia still have to bat and there's a long way to go to turn this great start into a convincing first innings lead.

Not real surprise India struggling against spin. Nothing new there. Lyon has done consistently well against them as have some other bang on average spinners.

Lots of turn on this wicket - reckon 250 is about par

Rahul needs to go for it now if he's to get to his 100 and beat Bannerman's 67%

I have said it way before that we don't play spin well anymore. I was correct about Rahane and Saha too! Rahane struggles big time against spin but he seems fine against pace. Saha can't bat and Parthiv would have been better choice than him. It was blessing in disguise when Saha was injured against England series!

All out for 189............

Baldy got 8 wickets.. Made him look like Murli by these punks. The real culprit & mastermind of India's debacle is Monty pajee!

monty finding a new spiritual home in a country where being a badly behaved drunk is mandatory not an offence lol

pleased for him that he seems to have found a way to keep using his obvious ability tho. mayber we need him to come home and coach some of our own players!

Just shows how dubious Ashwin and Jade stats are when in the same country bang average spinners from Oz are causing havoc.

it's certainly a major help to their figures. not going to criticise india for having spin friendly wickets because that's their prerogative and no different to any other country preparing home conditions to suit. but I do think some tests have gone beyond the mark and created conditions which are no longer fit for test cricket.

it's also no surprise that the bowlers are much better in home conditions. so whilst I know jadeja, ashwin and others are decent players, they are not as good as their current stats indicate. this will all start to level out once india come out of this run of home games and play abroad, and in time we'll get a fairer average to judge everyone on.

Indian batters are the bigger culprits. Obviously they have bee. Hiding by playing on flat tracks but last 3 innings reminds me of the days when Mooeen ali and Lyon destroyed us in their conditions.

India's players look almost tired out there - a gruelling and intense home season is finally taking its toll. However Australia's young guns deserve immense credit for the way they've played in alien conditions. These two pitches in hindsight have not been the best of choice - should have stuck to flatter, more rolled out ones. Again a pretty non existent batting performance and getting outfoxed by one of their spinners. KL Rahul once again the only one who comes out of with an ounce of credit. Karun played well until he came charging out of his crease as well for no reason. They've lacked application since this test series started. Australia have pretty much retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy - as Smith said.

However another thing that bemuses me about the BCCI is that they want to try and play Test Cricket in almost every stadium across the country. So ludicrious - it often means our players have rarely played Test cricket at such an intensity in places like Ranchi, Pune, Dharamshala where games are being held for the first time. We need to stick to our known venues for the top games - Mumbai, Mohali, Bangalore etc where the players are familiar with the wickets and home advantage can be rammed further. I know the opposing argument will be why shouldn't the rest of the country get to see Cricket but this is where unimportant limited over series' like T20's can be held. Test cricket for me must be played at a set 5/6 grounds.

Any selection issues you all may want to add. For e.g Ishant Sharma???? Rahane spin maestro, butter finger Mukund, Saha the don.......

Kav all that being true I think we have shown that we are still very far from winning a test series away from home. Our selection has been muddled by so many changes every single match. We are just not sticking with a consistent 11 for a couple of matches. I reckon Australia have 7 fingers on the border gavaskar trophy.

Viru,

U wanted Rahul to be excluded but again he scored highest in our innings.. Any further suggestions u may have sir?

Have to credit the Aussies though Viru. Their board is unbeliavably ruthless and efficient. Straight after the SA series they rammed through changes by discarding players that were getting on a bit. Remember how long we took to do that under Dhoni? They have also come with a fight in them - something England seriously lacked.

Poor that some Indian fans are caveting Aussies good work with the Indias long home season taking its toll nonsense. Just an excuse for the shambles of the last 3 innings really. Nothing else. Aussies have been sensational on turning wickets. That after being battered in the last few Asian style tracks.

Kohli looks lost. Has got out to ridiculously bread and butter balls- doesn't even know where his wicket is. He's struggling due to the changes in pitches india have prepared for this series rather than tiredness from the "long" home season.

Clearly literacy levels in this country aren't as high as they used to be.

Fact I still don't like the attitude of Rahul. He is so talented yet he does play unnecessary shots. All that being said, we haven't had a half century or a 100 partnership from our openers for a very long time. Actually none this home season.

I understand Viru.. But he is the only one right now playing in our whole team. He definitely has talent and hope he continues like this in future.. Now what bothers me most is our stupid team selections. Remind me memories of England 2013 and this series currently going even worse from that one!

Renshaw seems very much a cook type of player. Didn't realise he was English.
