like i said few weeks ago if we don't take max points against boro and wba we should concede the top 4 and concentrate on EL we win beat every team left in the EL

yup we have a big squad, no excuses, all season up until last week we've been saying were been fighting on all fronts then when its crunch time, "were too tired, why do we have so many games"?

I say we shut everything down now.
We go deep undercover.
And just come out for the EL.

I don't agree with any of that. Whilst football has more money and better players, it still used to involve the same amount of mileage.
We are the richest club in the world, with a large squad, of course we have to rotate and prioritise, but we should try and win every game in every competition.

There's a risk of fatigue. There's also a risk in putting all of our eggs in one basket. Let's say we throw the league and then get a man sent off in the 12th minute of the away leg against Lyon. Being favourites to win the EL doesn't mean all we have to do is turn up and play close to our best. It means we're better placed than the other teams, i.e. we've a better than 1/8 chance.

I don't think by any means we will be 'throwing' the top 4, and it's ridiculous to suggest that.

I think we will need to rest some players in league games before/after important Europa games, which may mean weakening our first team.

If the players that come in are not good enough to pick up points against sides like Boro or West Brom then obviously there is still work to do on our squad in the summer.

We have a 24 man squad full of internationals, but we're only using about 13/14 of them.

I'm not having that.
What is it with this big squad rubbish?

As if Harry Kanes's cover is going to win Spurs the PL?
As if Ibra's cover is as good as the real thing?

I haven't followed United closely this season but if Jose still using just a fraction of the squad (as he is welll known for) or have you guys had lots of injuries?

posted on 17/3/17

So we are currently 6th

Will probably finish 6th

And it's all because of fatigue from fixture congestion

Jose is good I tell ye

😄

well 1st off even with kane their not going to win the title but moving on cover is not supposed to be as good as the 1st choice and used all the time, its called cover for a reason, their supposed to do a short term job not play the whole season

First of all you really need to be watching United every week.
Second are squad like everyone elses compared to their first team is utter rubbish.

We lost Pogba to fixture congestion.

Now if our "large squad" can do just as well without him - why did we bother buying him?

Just taking the heat off before we kick a ball next

Rojo was eating a banana during the game.
They are literally dying on their feet.

It was already peeled too, Jose had mauled it, then a teammate, and Rojo then ate it

Dragged up he was

This is bordering on match fixing by Jose surely?

Jose only has himself to blame for player fatigue.

Word is...
He's going to throw the Chelsea game three days before the quarter final.
But sadly for you he's going to put out a full team for Wenger two days after the semi.

this is true, and there have been some clear opportunities to rest players that were not taken - the 2nd leg against st etienne for instance.

but someone above said that jose is known for playing with a small squad, but that seems very much to have been the norm this season - chelsea have basically relied on 13 players, and just chosen between fabregas and matic, or willian and pedro; it has become very clear that liverpool are hugely reliant upon about 12-14 players, and after that there is precious little; and the same is also true, to a lesser extent, for spurs.

It's difficult to play Monday with 10 men, it's difficult to play now, it's difficult to play 12 o’clock on Sunday. We have a lot of enemies.

"A lot of people might say we should have scored more goals. But a lot of things are going against us. The boys are amazing boys. We will probably lose the game on Sunday. Fatigue has a price."
