A tough draw but certainly not the toughest we could have had. We will have to play them at their own game, concede possession, make them break us down which they don't really like doing......should be an intriguing one as both teams set up very similarly
Tough draw, they're a very good side. But it could have been worse, I don't think the Leicester style will be as effective against atletico than some of the other draws.

Disappointing draw I'd say. At this stage, you have to want Barca, Real, Juve or Bayern. At Madrid are obviously a big name, but they aren't in the above bracket. Think they'll put this tie to bed in the first leg to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's exactly what everyone said about Sevilla. It was the worst draw we could have had etc etc
Atletico are a quality side, but don't like playing teams who set up the same way they do. I don't think we will go any further in the tournament but it won't be wrapped up in the first leg

Same could be said of Atletico. They like counter attacking teams which they won't be able to do against us as we will concede possession.
I don't expect us to beat them over two legs but will be an intriguing fixture

No such thing as a disappointing draw for Leicester city in the last 8 of the champions league. Any other fan in England would swap places to be in that position.
Massive that the 2nd leg is at the KP and if we can sneak an away goal again who knows.
I seem to recall people (including myself) saying against Sevilla it would all be over after the first leg too, but let's see. Like BS said it will be an intriguing tie given the set up and tactics of both sides.
Can't wait to see Simeone too going wild at the KP in his technical area. Bring it on. Happy with that.
Tough tie that. Not sure our style of play is best suited to them, but hopefully we can compete and keep it close enough to make the 2nd leg a corker.
Champions league quarter finalist. Still pinching myself.

Tough draw? It's the last 8 of the champions league...did you expect anything different?
Indeed. Certainly could have been worse, but also could have been better. You'd cause problems against high line pressing teams, that like to attack, atletico are like the upgraded version of you guys. Anything could happen in this tie.

Monaco? But yeah, let's be honest, every game is tough!!
Monaco would be tough as well because of the sheer pace they have in their attack. We are very vulnerable to pace and the ball being played in behind, I don't think we would have fared that well against Monaco if I'm honest who I think will surprise a few
Realistically we aren't going any further in the tournament so let's just enjoy a QF champions league draw against one of the best teams in Europe

I figured that against Seville, but with a large slice of luck you made it through that, so who knows?
I’m not disappointed at all. We’re in the QF of the Champions League. I don’t care who we play, Dilly Ding, Dilly Dong!
I don’t subscribe to this view that we should want Barcelona or Real Madrid just for the occasion. If we want to play them just for the sake of it then we should arrange a friendly just as we did a few years ago.
I don’t expect us to win this tie over two legs, but we have a slither of a chance. Having the 2nd leg at home is also a very slight advantage if we’re still close enough to them after the away leg.
It’s just a slither, but you never know ……
Could of been worse, but this team know how to navigate this competition reaching the final twice in the last few years.
As BS says, we're probably going out but lets enjoy the tie, we know this team strive to be written off as the under dogs. Lets see what they can do.
As time grew closer to the draw, the only team I didn't particularly want was Monaco as it seems some of them have a bee in their bonnet over us. Aside from that, second leg at home vs. anyone was good. We either get an outside chance of winning or a European giant. Either's good.

Not stating anything like what you have said. You may not get CL again so playing a true European giant is surely what you would have wanted?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Atletico are a European giant for me, finalists in the CL last season losing on penalties to Real. Winners of La Liga recently, managed by one of the best in the world and with some world class players.
Barca would destroy us so would much rather a game that we could make a fist of, even if they are much better than us
I don't get why opposition fans think it's disappointing we didn't get Barca, Real, Bayern or Juve but fack that.
Personally I don't know why anyone would want to give ourselves the best chance of going out when we can face a team who are beatable? That's crazy when the idea is to win the competition not to see which galactico you can see your side get humped by. No ta. I've already seen us play Barca and Real so not at all bothered.
Atletico will have to dominate possession because we won't and I reckon it will throw them off their game. They're the big club, the team that reached the final last season and they're the massive favourite. All this leads towards them having to dominate possession leaving us playing the way we want.

Conversely they might do the opposite and have you try and dominate?
I think Atletico are on a par with Juve. Certainly not on real, Barca or bayerns level though although they can go toe to toe with them

CofE - It's more a question of if we're going to go out anyway, let's go out with a bang against one of the most glamorous teams in the world.
But like I say, having looked at the names left in the draw, who cares?
We're in the CL quarter finals! Bring on anyone.

That won't happen, they are the heavy favourites and we will set up deep, especially away from home. They will have to take the game to us, they are going to sit back at their own place against Leicester City.....away from home is a different story, but even then I expect them to have most of the possession
