What worries me is the timing of our champs league game.Have heard many times from other managers of the lack of support given by the FA or prem league when clubs do well in Europe.

We play them on the sat ,and then in Europe on tues, why not weds?Seems rather unfair, would like to see Palace game moved.
Also ,if we had more wins before we play Palace we would be almost safe,if that happens imagine the furore if we played a second team against Palace.
The other lower teams would kick off,yet the powers that be have put us in a no win situation.
This is new to us ,and a lovely position to be in, yet I can now understand complaints over years by Wenger and others, when they have said English clubs are not supported in Europe by FA etc.

To be honest I think winning the next two will give us a nice bit of breathing space with only four points required for safety so it's really important that we get maximum points.
With that in mind I'd be definitely be resting players at Everton and maybe go full strength against Palace but prepare the bench for backs to the wall in the second half. If we drop points in these two games then so be it, it won't be the end of the world.
The way the bottom three teams are going I think 36pts may well be enough this season.

I really don't think that any of the bottom 3 clubs will hit the 35 point mark this season, that's how poor they are. So I would say 2 more wins and we can concentrate on the summer transfer window and put into place a firmer, stronger squad for next season.
Just one quick thought that I will throw out there to my fellow Foxes fans. We had all the ridicule etc when Roy Hodgson was linked with the managers role here, but how would we feel if the owners wanted to replace Rudkin with somebody like Roy as our DofF?
Would that be a good move by our owners?

Come on and play the game TB, we all know we are extremely lucky to have Rudkin and he has done wonders for our club and overseen some fantastic improvements and authorised paying for some quality talent but the time has come to move on

I would say yes to Hodgson replacing Rudkin and I actually think he'd be a really good fit for the club.
He'll get on well with the owners, he'll have plenty of contacts, he's well respected in the game, he's intelligent, has a footballing brain and has to be better than that useless twatt!
The direction and recruitment come the end of the season really concerns me.
Rudkin, the man who seriously suggested Neil Lennon as a credible option to replace Pearson will be in charge of he start of a squad rebuild, with the likes of Schmeichel, Mahrez and Drinkwater being lined up by top clubs.
Gone is Walsh, one of Europes best talent spotters, and we have Rudkin and Macia, neither of whom have a particularly great track record.
Rudkin somehow managed to negotiate paying £28m for Islam Slimani based on one exceptional season in the Portuguese premier league. He will be 29 soon - we should have bitten that Chinese clubs arm off who offered us £38m for him recently.
Rudkin also together with Macia managed to recruit Molla Wague as our only central defensive signing in the January window
The managerial approaches for Prandelli and Hodgson look ridiculous and desperate and the owners badly need someone who knows about football to advise them
What's keeping us up is Walsh and Pearsons team playing for Shakespeare, that won't last forever

I definitely share your concern about Rudkin and Whelan to be honest because I'm lead to believe she's the one who holds the purse strings.
I'm not unhappy with Macia though and I think you're judging him a little unfairly. He has suggested some decent players like Acerbi, Mbodji, Ramirez and Wague looked decent too. I'm certainly willing to give him a go whereas we know Rudkin is shiitt!
But how would Ramirez fit in to our style of play? This is what concerns me, we have people in the club seemingly looking to move away from that. Whether or not that was direction coming from Ranieri I don't know but signing players that don't fit into our strengths is a disaster
N'didi thank god was identified under Walshs team 2 years ago and I can only hope there are a few more like that. Yeah you could say Slimani was signed under Walsh as well but to be fair he was 3rd choice. We wanted Deeney

Ramirez is like Mahrez, he works really hard, is better defensively and can unlock a defence. I see him as a pretty good fit but we can do better in the summer.
I'm glad we got Slimani though not Deeney. I feel he's harshly criticised because he's done well. 11 PL starts, five goals and four assists or is it three assists and one in the CL plus another CL goal? He's just been unfit and isn't really suited to holding the ball up but he definitely has his qualities. Musa was a Walsh signing too and he looks shiitt and Mendy also looks pretty poor, so although his record was very good, he's recommended a few duds too. Let's just give Macia a chance and understand that he'll be working to specifications set out by the club. He won't be deciding the type of players we need so I don't think we should be worrying. Our problem is signing them once identified, that is something to worry about.
The problem with slimani is he cant seem to score a goal with his feet. Benteke is great in the air but has other parts to his game. Slimani has been appalling in terms of finishing chances with his feet. Surely we could have done better for £30m
How much was Gabbiadini for Southampton? A much better signing

Yeah I know but that just means you play to his strengths, that's the whole point of this team, round pegs in round holes. Deeney is better at holding it up and better scoring with his feet but he's nowhere near as lethal in the air.
Gabbiadini doesn't look like he'd suit our style either, he's a poacher so what would he bring other than an option off the bench? He wouldn't displace Vardy or Okazaki. I'll also reserve judgement until at least the end of the season, remember Pelle who looked like a world beater when he first sighed for them?
Gabbiadini is more of a target man who can finish exceptionally well. He's lethal in the box but can hold the ball up and bring others into play as good target men do. He would be exceptional for Leicester and was on our radar.
I think he could link up with Vardy far better than slimani has, he would give us another option but a better one. Slimani can head a ball very well and that's about it so far. We need way more than that for £30m. He needs to be able to link up play and finish as well

Well said, slagged off when we're in troubled, goes quiet when we win the League!
Pretty pointless discussion really as it seems he's the owners favourite, stands their in pictures looking like the Evil Bond sidekick villain.
Rudkin has no previous experience as a DoF. Nothing in his history that qualifies him for the job. Since coming on board we have missed out on a huge number of targets and spent well over the odds on the likes of Slimani and Musa.
We have just seen the back of possibly the worst transfer window in the history of the club given what was at stake - he takes a large part of the responsibility for that and for the fact that Ranieri had very little options to utilise when the going got tough
This team was built through the recruitment team that Walsh out together and guided by Pearson and then Ranieri (who subsequently lost his way). Most of the title winning side were signed before Rudkin became DoF so not sure why we are crediting the guy with a league title
If anything he's made building on that title win incredibly difficult for any manager to do and the owners are batshiiiit mental for placing all of their trust in him imo
Oh and let's not forget that Rudkin actually wanted Neil Lennon to be manager of this club. And he tried to talk the owners out of sacking Ranieri apparently. To$$er
Fair enough Blackstabber.
I did ask, and that is a fairly robust argument. Not sure I agree with everything there and I'm not sure just how much he is responsible for transfers etc. In truth I don't know exactly what his remit is and how well he fulfils it because both he and the club seem to keep a fairly low profile about such things.
I just feel he's an easy target and may actually be useful in oiling the wheels of what has become quite a big machine.
FFS regarding Rudkin none of know anything about him its all subjective and speculation. As he does not do any interviews either so either argument is equality valid.

His basic remit is player contract negotiation, signing players the head of recruitment has recommended (who works with the manager) and the manager reports into him. He has a big say on the hiring and firing of managers although thankfully the ultimate decision sits with the owners.
He works to a budget set by Whelan as i understand it....

His basic remit is player contract negotiation, signing players the head of recruitment has recommended (who works with the manager) and the manager reports into him. He has a big say on the hiring and firing of managers although thankfully the ultimate decision sits with the owners.
He works to a budget set by Whelan as i understand it....
