12 good months

It's not sad at all ............ given the budgets we're competing against I think the club has done amazing.

Clubs below us have spent fortunes in comparison and yet still won't go up - it's a tough league, tougher than ever I'd argue.

Well it goes to show its easier done the right way than bringing in a team full of nobody's and the manacoach being ordered to turn it into a team!..

Just think what could have been saved if it had been done the right way right from the start, but whatever, I still think the play offs will be very hard, but as people say if/when we get that far, the lottery is there to be won!..

Well I think Monk deserves a lot of credit. He's a good man-manager and obviously has th dressing room. The team have had an amazing run recently and I have every confidence the we can get back to the Premier this year.

Credit must go to Cellino for getting us into this position

Your persistent Perth, I'll give you that!

Yep lets credit Cellino for shutting up and keeping away ...... best thing he's done in years .......

He's definitely keeping quiet that's for sure, but he said we'd be in the play offs and we are.

He said we'd be promoted within 2 years or we could say he's failed.

Say he's failed then if it makes you happy but I think you're on your own there

From the YEP interview on 11th April 2014:

'Cellino says that in two seasons’ time, he expects to be in charge of a Premier League club. “Leeds are not ready for a lot reasons,” he says. “There’s no structure, it’s just expensive and we’re wasting money on rubbish. Next season, I think not. But in 2015-16, if we don’t go into the Premier League then I’ve failed. You can tell me I’ve failed."'

It's the end of March 2017 and we're still a Championship club.

Why would Jonty be on his own calling Cellino a failure?

posted on 23/3/17

I think there's many that think he's a failure, Perth just doesn't seem to realize a lot were on his side a while back!..

Cant understand how people think he's still a success and has input in what is going on, his family have a deal with AR and part off that deal is to butt out, if he had any say we'd have heard from him a long long time ago!..

This club has started to function correctly since he butted out!..

And Monk still has a job!..

In his own words, by his own measure, Massimo Cellino has failed.

No controversy there, he set the expectation and the conclusion if that expectation was not met.

Goodnight and good luck!

I don't consider the position we're currently in and the team and management we currently have to be any kind of failure.
If you are just measuring failure to be that this didn't happen last year then fair enough, but pedantic springs to mind.

Cellino made statements upon arrival that were naïve. I'm not going to slate him for that. Excited exuberance maybe, ignorance of the league he was buying into - probably. I don't particularly have any issue about the ground not being bought, or the promotion within 2 years bits (I'd have liked both obviously!) ............... it's the irrational and embarrassing subsequent behaviour. The behaviour of an unhinged and neurotic powder chaser.

Listening to the initial boasts were exciting, crowd pleasing stuff, to an audience starved of hope for far too long. But underneath it, especially the promotion in 2 years bit, the obvious truth is that no matter what you spend - ask plenty of clubs - there's absolutely nothing guaranteed in this league.

He's just a loon, end of.

When you look at the rest of this division I'd say any team still receiving parachute payments and clubs like Derby, Wolves, Forest could be seen as failures this season. Not us.

posted on 23/3/17

I don't think anyone was suggesting that the team or the club was a failure, only Cellino.

posted on 23/3/17

So how can you just conveniently forget Cellino owns Leeds Utd?
He'd be getting the blame if we were bottom of the table that's for sure.

posted on 24/3/17

Just a mere coincidence he has been invisible for the past 6 months and we are enjoying our best season in about 10 years, eh? 👍

Definitely deserves credit for staying out of the way, avoiding controversy and quietly winning some court cases.

Bellisimo, El Big C! 🍺

Hard for you to admit the big C has done good eh?

No! He said if people bought their season tickets early he would give them some money back if we did not get in the playoffs.

It was a blatant need to plug a short term cash problem knowing full well that he probably wouldn't be around at the end of this season.

A clever move to release cash to keep the club running day to day during the close season.

That's assuming it was his idea of course

Gamble that has really paid off!
