There are good and bad in all groups, and bad Muslims should be called out like any other bad person, of whatever faith, colour or creed.
Allowing one group the luxury of special status is not healthy for any society.
If a christian, Sikh, Jew or atheist is a wrong in, call it like it is.
If a white, black or brown person is bad, say so, and make no excuses for them.
If a Muslim Or Jew is a good person, say so, and don't base opinion on faith or background.

I agree. Basically, if you're a good, decent person, that's all that matters. I, and millions of others, don't need religion to tell me how to treat others, and how to lead a worthwhile life. It was how I was brought up, and then continued to develop myself.

For one good reason....I have sinned more than most, and as a kid hated attending Greenisland methodist church and Sunday school.
P!us Free P DUP in Carrick closed our playgrounds and we were not allowed to play cootie ona Sunday, due to our minor dose of fundamental religion.
I would not want the pope or paisley telling me how to pray or live.

I refer specifically to islamist fanatics, or Muslim extremists, not blaming Islam, or the Muslim in the street.
The ra are largely if not totally catholic, like my wife, so if I condemn the ra,,I do not condemn catholics.

We really cannot keep saying criticism of Isis,or fanatical islamism, is hatred for Islam, or Muslim people.

British and Irish values can be linked to a christian ethos,,or past now, but it is about freedom, liberal democracy, tolerance, identity, culture, community....same as any values expressed in any nation, I suppose.
We are far from perfect, being human,,but this is a great place to live.

I'm not a fan whatsoever of western foreign policy or a few areas of the armed forces.

The challenge that faith brings into the mix though (be it misinterpreted or not) is that not only does it make individuals want to kill others, it makes them unafraid of killing themselves too (hence the increase of suicide bombers that you don't get in purely political terrorism) in the process.

That alone makes it an incomparable apart from in a very playground manner that completely disregards reasons behind motive.

Ill be completely honest though, I dislike most states and religions.

How many times have I criticised Daesh etc for killing minorities, denounced them and provided Islamic evidence as to why Deash shouldn't be considered Islamic?

It's YOU who legitimises them by calling them Islamic, every Arab nation calls them Daesh, it Europe and America who choose to call them ISIS.

When Israelis continuously kill and oppress Christian Palestinians in Palestine, particularly in Bethlehem where the population is over 50% Christian you say nothing.

I am happy to discuss issues with Muslims. I have no real interest in the Koran likewise the Torah or the Bible. I think it is far better if we discuss these things without throwing out insults. I don't meet Muslims in my day to day life as there isn't a Muslim community near where I live. So I'm happy to hear their thoughts on politics and religion.

Let's take for example the typical atheist go to argument ie who created God. If the answer is we don't know or he has always been there even he isn't created they will automatically come with the whole fairy/unicorn etc and laugh smilies

Yet let's look at science and what would the response be to where did matter/energy (whatever you want to call what existed before the big bang) come from. Then we get the same replies. Don't know/always existed etc. So if it existed before the big bang it has no creator either

But its easier to attack and laugh than let the conversation get to their beliefs
