For that to work we'd need superior attacking fullbacks than Valencia and Shaw.

Stick CBJ at LB and sign an attacking RB who can actually cross and ball and that could work.

Otherwise the play would be congested centrally and opposition teams would be comfortable letting us go out wide because Shaw and Valencia won't do much with the ball.

I think you all need to stop drinking in the week. Why on earth would we set up so narrow

I do take the point about the full backs. I do think Valencia is better than people think there. Not sure about Shaw

My formation was more a guide and open to replacing certain players

I would play him about a thousand miles south, in Madrid.

Would rather we buy someone that suits the formation that has gotten the best out of our current players, and improves on it, rather than buying another big star then trying to figure out how to fit them all into an XI.

We do need a proven goalscorer which Griezmann is. Ibra has been good but he can't do it on his own

Not if he was just straight swapped for Martial like in the above line ups, he'd be out wide most of the game and getting the odd chance like Martial does.

Pogba, Mkhi and Zlatan would still be missing chances every week.

He's a few levels above Martial in quality and used to be a winger and played wide left. While I expect most of his time at United tonne central , if he plays left o think he'll do a lot more and score a lot more than Martial currently does

But he doesn't fit into the team. There's other options. Getting more out of Rashford and Martial for example.

As for Valencia - he's solid enough, but if we're to play narrow, the FB's have to be very good attackers. AV is not a very good attacker.

While I wouldn't be against signing Griezmann I think we'd be far better than now if we got to play Mkhi, Zlatan and Martial more consistently as a front three. With Pogba, Herrera and Carrick/another behind.

Just not been able to play that side consistently due to injuries, lack of form etc.

Still think Martial will be an incredible player for us if he gets to play every week

Yes I agree he's better than Martial, especially as a finisher. I don't think he's a few levels above him at beating his man on the wing though, he would drift inside a lot if he wanted to get into scoring positions and we would have zero threat on the wing (full back problems again).

I'd just rather us sign players that fit our best line up, rather than trying to create a new one to fit our signings.

Griezmann has been playing for a manager who wants 110% from his players and to track back

So he's perfect for Jose. I know people want Martial and others to get a chance but Jose likely wants to build a side in his own image and players that will do as he commands . Does Martial do that? I'm not sure.

is how i would look to go next season.

I think this could be the summer DDG finally jumps ship,though I hope not.
Keylor Navas seems to have had a torrid time of it this season.

that front 3 has the ability to interchange, something we havent been able to do this season.

Looks an exciting team Dunc

Plenty of pressure on Griezmann and the other 2 though to really perform in front of goal if we bin off Zlatan who may hit 30 goals+ this year.
