play him behind the striker or spend the money elsewhere
He's not going to lead the line in the premier league... and while he can play wide he's not worth a world record fee (or close to it) to play him there
As much as I like him as a player... I'm another who's not sure quite how he fits, or how it would leave our midfield set up (in a 2 for example)
suppose it depends on our other signings and departures

I'd rather not spend money on griezman tbh. Could easily come here and flop. Pogba has not been a succcess and spending more money on another player we may not even play in the right position is silly. If we sell martial it's another failed signing to add to the long list. Keep what we have in attack, improve our full back area and midfield and go into next season with less uncertainties.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why buy anyone if you're worried about flopping?
Griezmann is one of the best 5 players in the world and we need goals. He scores them. Over the past 3 seasons he's scored pretty much the same amount as Neymar
Well we're certainly going to be cutting down the squad again this summer.Think they'll be atleast of couple of surprising departures.

I don't really see any formation related issues tbh.
Play Griez at no.10 behind Zlatan in some games, up top on his own in others, or as part of an attacking midfield 3 in others.
As for not wanting to change our current setup, why not? What's so great about it anyway?

Agreed UWW. If we cant work out where he ought to play if bought, then work on other areas first.
We need to buy players that will clearly improve the position they're used to playing in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You don't pass up a player like Griez. If there's No place for him in the team, you make place for him.
I'm fairly certain Jose knows where he wants Griezmann to play and has a plan.
Despite what some people like to think, Woodward and the club aren't stupid and don't just hand £85 million over without Jose going into great detail with them how he'll use Griezmann

Exactly and we can't keep changing our attack every season and making 5/6 signings every summer. its more for marketing reasons this and it's been an utter failure on the field. Under fergi we never did this and it's just for media excitment. We can't keep spending 50m on players and then binning then after a season. It's utter madness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ibra was never a long term signing so of course we will be changing our attacking options in the near future

Exactly. This is not like trying to fit Berba into a team that just won the PL and CL double - this is about trying to improve a team that, by United standards, is chit!!
jose was talking about more direct recently as how he played at madrid.
would love this formation if zlatan leaves

Dunk the club just looks like it's buying players without much aim tbh. We are not sustainable and we shall see but can't see us winning anything that matters for years. Griezman is best centrally but not as a number 9 and Jose will want a target man e.g ibra.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he never really played with a target man at real to be fair, people think just because he used Drogba thats the only plan he has.
Personally, i'd rather sign Lukaku.

I get where you guys are coming from. However, he will be mega bucks and I think the team can be improved far more by spending big in other areas. Certainly need at least one premium CM, LB is still a big ?, Valencia is improving at RB but still often sucks going forward, and we may lose our GK this summer.
I'd much rather we improve the much weaker parts of our team first.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The weakest part of our side is scoring goals to be fair.

i'd like to see Pereira get some game time next season too.
If De Gea goes then he goes, but we should be making sure that we either get top money for him or we demand a player in return.
Either someone like Kroos or Varane.
Romero is more than capable of coming in.
