there is strong tribal mindset in english football
there is no way anyone who grows up in the culture would want success for a rival unless it immediately directly benefits own club

this culture as also hurt the epl with top players only option being to overseas rather than join rival

Why so you can delude yourself you'd have done well in Europe when you aren't any good in it?

There's no excuse for Tottenham's failure in Europe this season. Those games at Wembley were Neutral ground at worst so Tottenham should have done better.

not a rival club tho. like tonight and last season i happily cheered leicester
when i cheer rivals like liverpool city arsenal chelsea etc it is only halfheartedly

spurs have always been my second club but now i see them as utds rival thats probably going to change

Tottenham did well the first time they were in the CL but failed badly this time. There's no excuse, just accept it.

What has getting to the CL quarters 6 years ago got to do with you being poor in Europe ever since, especially under Pochettino?

Thing is about Mourinho is it usually ends up going a bit first scene of Saving Private Ryan.

Even with rival clubs. For example when Chelsea won the CL in 2012, most of my friends who don't support Chelsea were still cheering for us. I don't know if it's a generation thing but for me it's weirder to think of people not supporting the English clubs in Europe.
