I sorta agree with you here Don as personally feel we lack something.
Had a great team during the Redknapp era and won nothing. Losing that semi final To Portsmouth ffs
Kinda getting the feeling this might go the same way.
We need 2 or 3 first 11 type players we can rotate with the current lot. None of this buying inferior back up players
Watching the second half it reminded of watching Spurs play Leicester at the Lane, lots of possession but did nothing with it and failed to create any reasonable chances. It was just crosses into the box that Chelsea dealt with easily and then mounted dangerous counter attacks. While Chelsea were under pressure they never looked uncomfortable to me.
So Spurs being the better side is debatable in my opinion, more ball yes but less shots on target than Chelsea managed with less possession. It still highlights that possession counts for nothing and the best team won the game by scoring two more goals.

Is it really 7 fa cup semi final defeats in a row?

Oh dear!!! Stop trying to involve yourself, you're irrelevant.
We were clearly the better side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You clearly determine having more ball as being the better team but you lost and had less shots on target so I don't share your view of possession means you're better. Chelsea had less possession and did more with it. Sounds familiar doesn't it?
You're all huff and puff and no ideas.
Sugar Ray - going by your logic of more possession means you were the better team, I presume that means we were the better team against Atletico because we had more of the ball and put them under more pressure?
I'm sure you'll turn that around and suggest Atletico were the better team even though they surrendered possession.
Chelsea were the better team because they got the basics right. Made less defensive mistakes when faced with more pressure and capitalised on our mistakes with clinical finishing.
Mistake 1 - Let them break on us within first 5 minutes resulting in free kick.
Mistake 2 - Lloris not trusting his wall.
Mistake 3 - Son playing as LWB conceding pen with stupid slide tackle.
Mistake 4 - First corner kick conceded and we leave Hazard totally free on edge of box. Lack of concentration.
From a Chelsea perspective can they really be critical of the goals they conceded. Absolute world class assists from Eriksen and finishes from Kane and Alli that you would just have to hold your hands up to.

We shoot ourselves in the foot too much with these individual mistakes in big games. Just this season:
Wimmer OG vs Arsenal away
Lloris dropping 2 clangers vs City away
Kane OG and Alli sending off vs Gent at home
Son giving away avoidable pen yesterday
I don't know if it's inexperience or nervousness or what. Needs to change though.

Best team in the league as well.

Even though our team was stricken by virus, We should have scored five or six like 2012.
Costa missed sitters.
Also Lloris should have gone when we were 2-1 up

He already watches the best team in the country who win nothing so watching a nothing team who just happened to win a trophy won't work for him. He doesn't understand what podiums and fireworks are all about, it'd just get too much for his little brain to cope with.

I didn't even respect them last season!
And after the way they treated Ranieri they deserve all the contempt they get.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Typical clueless response from someone with his head stuck up his arris.
Ranieri was single handedly destroying our club from the inside but of course you wouldn't have the first idea about that would you! Moron!
Ranieri deserved to be sacked because of his pee poor managerial performance this season and that's exactly why he was.

Ungrateful? No not at all, I'll be forever grateful for what he did last season but what he did this season needs to be forgotten because he made a right mess of it.
He was convinced we couldn't continue to play without the ball so he tried to change our style of play and ruined us. We were heading for relegation and there's no way he would have changed it back. If he hadn't changed anything he wouldn't have lost his job so he doesn't have anyone to blame but himself.
We spent £83m since the summer and getting relegated isn't acceptable under any circumstances.
