I'm not a massive fan of him. Good shot stopper but has glaring flaws in his game. His kicking is just awful
Although I would rather we keep him but I'd definitely take the captain armband of him.
Great article. Seems to wobble in the big games when we really need him. Otherwise brilliant, but has cost us a few times. Not easy to replace, but certainly not impossible.

No. I'm not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nor am I.
He's a top keeper, one of the best in the league. He does get it wrong occasionally and his distribution can be poor, but if we're saying he's not good enough for us then we're being too fussy IMO.

Jeez, you guys are worse than the gooners. It wasn't long ago that Spurs fans were proclaimed Lloris as one of the top 5 keepers in the world.
I'm happy with him. He's not perfect but then again nor is Alderweireld or Kane or Eriksen or Vertonghen or Walker....
Im not. I think he's awesome. Match winning saves have more than compensated for his odd mistake. Unique keeper who plays out from the back, incredibly quick of his line/sweeper and a brilliant shot stopper. I personally think should Toby should be captain but I think they gave it to him as part of his most recent deal to stay (+he's captain of France)

Some Spurs fans think Lloris is fantastic. Others think he's decent/good. A very small minority may even think he is poor. Very simple to understand
We're lucky to have him. End of discussion!
No joke, I wouldn't swap him for De Gea or Neuer. There's no keeper in the world I'd rather have. Honestly.

I'm not saying look to sell Lloris, or that he is below our level. I think he is very much our level and just think his status and ability is overrated, especially by the French media. He's our top earner alongside Kane and needs to be much more reliable in big games if he is to deserve it

Wow that's some love you have for Hugo
Every top keeper makes mistakes, that's a given. If people do want to sell Lloris and get another keeper, is it realistic to find one that will make less mistakes than Hugo?
More often than not he makes a blinding save to keep us in the game. I can't think of many keepers that could pull off some of the saves he does.
I feel if we do take the captain's armband off him then he will force a move. We have Lopez for the long run, I haven't seen much of him really, apart from when he gave Messi a bit of a stamp, hardly promising that.
Ultimately until his next mistake, Hugo will go largely untalked about due to how dominant we are in games. We have Arsenal and United left as our last 2 big games, let's just see how he manages in them both, and come back at the end of the season for a proper discussion about it, because at the moment, we do have the best defence in the league.
He's a top keeper for sure. Not at the same level as the best around tho (Like Neur).
I've been thinking for a while that I'd love us to get Kasper Schmeichel. Think he gets better each year and could go on to be absolutely brilliant.
Hugo is in the long list of Spurs players who suddenly make stupid errors in the big games. I mean look at Toby and Son on Saturday. Walker has done it a few times. Who remembers Defoe inexplicably heading the ball back into the box to set up liverpools winner? What about all the penalties we've conceded in big games through stupid hand balls etc. And Crouchs ridiculous early sending off at the Bernabau?
We always shoot ourselves in the foot in the pressure games. Hugo is no different

1) He's really not that good
2) He's 30 years old so not as if he has so much more room for development than 30 year old Lloris.
Like I put in not his biggest fan but there's not many goalkeepers around we could get that are better.
Maybe butland in a years time once he's over that bad injury and back sharpe.
Don't think Butland can play out from the back. In fact I wouldn't trust any English goalkeeper to do so. Taught differently
Leaders - I was convinced he was only about 25
I take it back. (I still rate him though)

Tbf not many keepers can.
If theres a chance we could sell him for big money I'm happy to drive him to the airport. Actually even if we can't get good money for him lets get rid. Too many errors in important games, he has a charmed life on this forum. People/teams are termed as bottlers too often but he does fit the bill, remember West Ham away and Arsenal (both games) last season.
