Keep Lloris. Make someone else captain.

Why would we get rid of a goalkeeper who is part of the best defensive unit in the Premier League.

All goalkeepers make mistakes, including Lloris, but he has a great understanding with our other defenders, it would be stupid to break them up and replace any of them.

Also, why would anybody want the captaincy taken off Lloris when he his currently the captain of the best Spurs team for decades, he must be doing something right.

If it aint broke, don`t fix it.

It looked pretty broke to me when Willians free kick sailed past him. Our defence is good in spite of him not because of him. When was the last time he made a world class save that won us a game?

Jeez, you guys are worse than the gooners. It wasn't long ago that Spurs fans were proclaimed Lloris as one of the top 5 keepers in the world.

Makes me laugh when people say stuff like this. This is one fan's post, it's not reflective of the entire Spurs fan base.

Ridiculous argument.

How many of Dele's goals were actually world class? How many of Eriksen's assists were world class? How many tackles by any defenders were world class?

Hugo is captaining the best Spurs side the majority of us have ever seen. He's the keeper in the most consistent PL side over the last 2 years and the best keeper we've had in years!

He makes occasional mistakes that are overly highlighted, but name a footballer or person that doesn't.

We may not be 'lucky' to have him, but we suit each pretty well and there are incredibly few keepers I'd switch him with.

Also, if you look at the stats, our defensive numbers aren't just good because of our defenders - he gets us out of jail a lot. He's also great with his feet.

If he left us, he'd double his wages and play for one of the big boys - that tells it's own story.

So why haven't any of those so called big boys ever come in for him?

"He's also great with his feet."

Do you mean saving with his feet as he's shocking kicking with them

Because right now he's not as fashionable as De Gea or Neuer. Most of the big clubs already have settled keepers. I promise you, the moment Madrid get rid of Navas, it will be either De Gea or Lloris. If it's De Gea, Utd will go for Hugo. He's in that top 5 keeps bracket. Are we as a club? No. Therefore he's playing below his talent.

What I mean by that is not just his kicking, often it's simple passing as he's encouraged to play out from the back anyway, it's his ability to anticipate and rush out of his area to save us. We wouldn't be able to play such a high line without him, a tactic so important to the way we play.

How do you know they haven`t been in for him?

Not every transfer offer gets leaked and broadcasted.

For me it's:

1)Neuer
2)De Gea
3)Buffon (still top class)
4)Lloris
5)Oblak

With Cech, Courtois etc not far off. We are certainly lucky to have Hugo between the posts. We aren't the fourth best team in Europe as others have said.

We tend to know when one of the big boys are in for our players. Chelsea and Real with Modric, Bale to Madrid was rumoured all summer before he signed

If you think Lloris' kicking is bad, you need to watch Cech. Makes Lloris look like Maradonna.

I don't think Lloris' shot-stopping is top class. His best quality is as a sweeper. Rapid in anticipating and mopping up balls behind the defense. His distribution IS good. He just takes more risks with it and can put himself in trouble. Also a fantastic communicator and organizer.

I have never been a huge Lloris fan to be honest. If you had a gun to my head and I had to sell one of our first choice XI he would be first choice.

Although quick off his line he does not always fill me with confidence when doing so. His distribution is average, and his long kicking is atrocious. I do like a keeper to be dominant in the air too, and he is not built that way.

As Analog said, the errors seem to be prevalent in big games. He is good, but for me not as good as he thinks he is
