Post-mortem still?

Poch facked up, we lost.

If we have designs of being truly among the elite in this league - and staying there - then we put disappointment to the side, dust ourselves down and move on.

That's a fair point, and had we lost knowing we'd played our strongest and most settled side, then I'd brush off defeat no problem.

But playing Son at LWB was madness and has killed our season while re-invigorating Chelsea's - I'm still facked off by it!

We can all come up with $hit like this - why the feck did we move Dave out of a very successful back three, on the opposite of his natural side to replace Alonso as LWB at Old Trafford.

Start thinking like that and you'll go mad!

Why has it killed our season? Us not picking the best team and losing our first game in about 2 months shouldn't break us. If so then we're weak.

They might still have won today. It may have made them more focused to try and win had they lost on Sat. At the same we might have lost a little focus on the league had we won. We could have played Son in his normal position and still lost in a tight game. Ifs, buts, maybes.

In terms of the league, I'd rather look at all the draws we had, and more to the point what led to those draws. For me it's down to a combination of key players getting injured and not having the required depth in squad to cover for them.

Ultimately Chelsea look like they could finish the season on the 90+ points mark, which is a rarity for the league, and something that a club in our burgeoning stage was always going to struggle to match.

The best thing for us going forward, aside from finishing this season in 2nd place, is to have a good summer and bring in players who can improve us still so we avoid having as many draws, and get off to a strong start in next season this time.

Out of character for Poch, but let's move on, he's certainly earned some credit. Highest premier league finish and record points total still to play for.

Spittle

Absolutely spot on buddy.

Southampton aren't a good side especially without van Dyjke, we beat them 4-1 at Sr Marys not too long ago.
Chelsea were always going to have too much for them tonight.

As Spurtle says it was the draws we had at the start season that buggered us. Not Son playing out of position and the fa cup defeat.

I'm resigned to us finishing second. Who knows Everton might beat Chelsea on a Sunday but it's still asking a lot for us to win our last six games.

I want and expect us to finish the season well and finish second. It will be gutting to miss out of course but to finish above the Manchester clubs, Arsenal and Liverpool will be a Fantastic achievement.

We are a damn good side and I'm proud of them.

Too much has been made of Son at LB being responsible for our loss. In any case it's done now.

Seen a lot of our fans harp on about this but tbh Davies has been pretty poor on the left recently and wouldn't of been back to even stop the run into the box in the first place so I don't see it as a reason or excuse for any future results

It is one of those things buddy i think we have to look at the bigger picture here.

The tragedy of Ugo had a huge effect on everyone. But especially some of the kids. Ben Davies was on the bench but not fit enough to play (he has a fitness test before the game later) he was only on the bench because some of the kids were effected by Ugos passing away and they could not be used.

Personally i would of used Walker at left back 3 games there 3 man of the matches but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I was incredibly proud of the team it was difficult for them i thought the referee had a stinker gave us nothing. We have to move on now.

What i find very interesting is the fact Wimmer has been so poor he could not get a look in, He is a certainty to go in the summer. And i am sure Poch bought on N'kodou to say look at this squad this is all i have.

Lets go and win tonight andros townsend 3 own goals please.

--------------------------------------------------------------------- Ugo passing away so suddenly must have had some effect on the entire squad, I think maybe that has been overlooked. At the end of the day we didn't take our chances , they did end of. If we win tonight all to still play for.

You lack mental belief from Poch to the players and fans. You played ok at Wembley but fell apart in the last quarter. Should have been 5 again

Think you need to invest in some flair: a game breaker next season to stop draws from

The problem with this argument is that we were the better team all day and should have won. But somehow lost.
