You are right about the Board but it must include J R. Paragraph two I do not think is the answer.
The one reason i didnt include JR in my complaints about the board is because he has put his hand in his pocket and spent over the years, it would be unfair to expect him to keep splashing the cash with no help from the board
Message to Doncaster Rorpers
We are NOT SoD Hatters ( Haters I think), we are actually Rovers lovers, some who have held that position for over 60 years. We want success for our team, but to keep harping on about SoD being the Messiah is ridiculous. Believe it or not he is actually human, he can and does make mistakes.
We who want him gone have the best interst of the club at heart. This has being going on for a long time, it's not as though we have just lost a couple of games, we have a win to loss ratio which is horendous.
The only reason he is still here is not because the Board wants him, it's because the Board does not or cannot pay him and a replacement. So much for your wanting them to fund more players.
By the way, part of his interview yesterday was that we do not have a proper striker when Sharp is not availble, who brings in the players? Dah!!!!
well bally you've just argued my point for me, the fact is its the board who provides the budget for SoD to buy players and the fact is they are not providing him for the budget required.
and yes i know he has made mistakes but i will once again say he's doing his job in difficult circumstances, if you go back and look at when we started losing you will clearly see its around the same time we started to hit injury problems, FACT there is not another manager out there who could do any better with the squad and funds available.
For you to imply that he doesn't have the clubs bet interest at heart is just stupid just think of all the clubs who he's being linked with but has stuck with us, now that is what i for call loyalty to the club.
another point just think back to the start of last season when we were playing well and even pushing playoff's you lot couldn't get enough of SoD then.
Read again. I said WE have the best interests of the club at heart, I DID NOT say the SoD doesn't. I would never imply that whilst someone is paid to do a job they do not do it to the best of their ability.
What I am implying is that in my opinion ( only) he would be better being challenged elsewhere. I am entitled to that opinion in the sme way you are entitled to your views.
It's horrendous Bally(not horendous) & I think the level of typing errors & spelling mistakes on this post is the one reason we fail
to succeed.We need a goalkeeper,a goalscorer & a manager.As a team we don't score goals,no-one can argue with that.So a new policy is needed.And that will come from a new leader.QED.
Thanks for the lesson stanton, I looked at it twice and was sure I had changed it to two r's. I agree with the rest.

if you can see the writing on the wall after 6 games in a 42 game season ,give me the next 3 winners at Kempton park and I'll buy the Rovers and make you the manager
Hi,Canadian, nice to hear from you.I got 5 winners from 7 at Uttoxeter last Wednesday so I think I can study form! That is why I am betting on our downfall if we don't act now.1 point is my point!
Stanton
great to hear you had 5 outta 7 at Uttoxeter on Wednesday ,i was at Doncaster on friday !!!!! how many winners do you think you'd have had ????out of my group of 9, the only one who had a winner all day was my friends daughter who picked the jockey in the 5th in the pink shirt and maroon cap
Give me the racecard,I'll give you 3 winners, but I don't want to manage again in my life!I was a Managing Director, retired now & don't want to go there again! That is why I is so frustrated with SO'D.I was an "Exceptional Manager!"
If you can give me 3 winners on a race card????? why are you even bothering with football,by your own admission your a horse racing aficionado,by the by i allas con sided myself a good manager "but thats only my opinion"
Hey Stanton, Guess what? I IS on your side.
Or as Decart put it, "I think therefore I is", or is it I am.
We have just (hopefully) come through a period of 8 months where between 6 and 16 players were unavailable due to injury. The average was 11. Believe me, that is a massive handicap. During this period, we tried to plug gaps with the likes of Kilgallon, Euell and Moussa.
Over the closed season, we signed eight new players permanently, one on a season-long loan and two on further short-term loans. That seems a lot to me.
Could we not simply be in a situation where we have a combination of new players not yet being on the same page. Players coming back complicates things further as it's more mixing and matching.
On budgets and throwing money at the problem, sadly only 8000 or so come through the gates. That's not going to inspire anybody to throw more money in.
Now there's a strange answer. I haven't said anything that is untrue or even debatable. I've somehow managed to avoid blaming anyone. Should I give someone a rollicking? Nah
But surely if I've blamed no one, not said anything that's debatable and not rollicked anyone, I have to be wrong somewhere along the line?
I'm with Fuzzy on this.
In the football world emotion prevails over all else and "passion" is considered to by many to be the supreme virtue. Neither quality nurtures rational thought and try as we may to disassociate ourselves from standard football fans thinking we have this conventional reaction – “sack the manager” nagging away at us. There may almost be a feeling that we are weak because we are not stridently advocating it. It takes a lot of belief to maintain a sensible perspective.
The fact that he may have had more rope than almost anyone else we can think of only means that most managers are not given enough rope. There are very good reasons why the team have not picked up more points. It is worth recording that their defensive performances are a good deal better than the end of last season. The midfield have been disappointing, but we have been without Stock and Mason and almost forgotten what Woods looks like. The forwards have certainly been exciting to watch than towards the end of last season and despite the lack of points I think we are playing better than then.
If after another 3 or 4 games results have not improved then we might suggest that the time has come to review the management, but I really do not see the merit in showing SOD the door now. A club with our resources whose aim is to develop players cannot be expect to be challenging for promotion. Mid table is probably a realistic target and you cannot be in 12th place from day 1 through to day 250. In all the circumstances there must be an allowance of more time.
2nd paragraph "...more exciting to watch"
I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place in what we should (want the club to) do…
I know the clubs (players and supporters alike) morale is very, very low at the moment (I haven’t felt like this for 13 years now!) and something needs to be done about it, i.e. Change of manager. But, I don’t think that as ever helped, not in resent times anyhow.
What to do…

Let me get one thing straight. I don't believe that any of those on here and other boards want a new manager to be able to get into the Premiership. Doncaster Rovers has achieved it's height by getting back into the Championship.
We need new ideas to keep us in the Championship, SoD's ideas are not working. If we reach ONE point from TEN games (30) then we are, in my mind, too far down the line to come back.
We need to maintain the position in the Championship because relegation will, I am sorry to say not be the answer. Those people on the Board now, supplying the funds they are, will NOT be there if we go down.
Automatic promotion will not happen, in fact we could end up in a spiral of relegations back to the dreaded Conference.
Yes we have had injuries, but how many have been self inflicted by siging players carrying injuries, by players getting i n jured in training and then again before they gat chance to make a comeback. What has our medical team been doing? They are the responsibility of the manager. We have three physios and a Doctor, how do we miss injuries on medicals?
I am sorry to harp on, and I know we will never agree, but if action is not taken, by the time I go back to the States on Sept 29th our season could be over. What then for attendances and club finances?
NY
I have never believed for a minute that anyone thinks a change of manager will get us into the premier league. I think some misguidedly think it will save us from relegation.
You say SOD's ideas aren't working. I say never being able to work with the same team or even core has meant that since January 2011, SOD has rarely been able to execute his plans as he would like. That means we can't say they don't work.
Indeed I seem remember them working extremely well between Jan 2009 and Jan 2011. Sure in some of that time we had some different / better players but the point is still valid that his methods, tactics, strategy etc can work at this level. So why sack him? The only valid reason would be that he has lost his enthusiasm for the job. If that were the case, he is not a man who would find getting another job difficult, therefore I think he would resign.
On injuries, I am sure we have played players who we should not have played. Billy was playing last season with a hernia and doing this led to him damaging a groin; Chambers was brought back too soon and I'm fairly sure Hayter came back too soon from his last injury (although we seem to have got away with that). All this happens because of our circumstances.
Let's take Hayter as an example. Having lost our two main attacking players on day 1, O'Driscoll is forced to play Brown up front. Brown has a back injury that needs watching. So Brown is playing Tuesday/Saturday but not training. Not training is a recipe for future problems and he does his knee. Luckily, Hayter is physically OK to go (but not match-fit) and he gets 2 in 2 before the international break.
Both Brown and Hayter played in non-ideal circumstances. But what was the alternative?
The board could have signed Vine, ALF or any of the other players mentioned. They could have loaned someone (in fact they did). But all this bursts the wages budget. As the club is run such that a loss is planned, and only 8000 come through the gates, the businessmen who could loosen the purse-strings simply are not going to do that.
i wonder why only 8000 come through the gates i wonder
