Great article. Always interesting to read about moments in lives that are complete game changers. Its not what happens that drives your future, its how you react to it

Nuno nominated for August championship manager of the month along with Mick and Christiansen of Leeds. But Warnock will surely win it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would give it to Mick, battered in all five games, a raft of injuries and still picked up 12 points.
Agree, he's one hell of a good manager in the chumpo

Premier League have voted for the transfer window (as far as buying players) will close before the season starts. Players can still be sold until the normal window closes.
Football League clubs may well follow suit, but as we will be a Premier League club by then, who cares?
Next season's transfer window ends on the Thursday before the season strarts.
Sensible in one way but I think it will be awkward that English teams cant buy players from Europe once the season has started, but they can buy players from us.
Nice little squad built up then PSG come along and nick your best player
completely disagree - there should not be a window at all

I concur
I think the window should be 12 hours long and in the middle of July.
Imagine all that frantic activity condensed into half a day. That's when the rich baztards would really come into their own.

Good old Don Goodman:
“If you’re going to get promoted you need to be able to win games when you don’t play well, and to do that in the Championship you have to be able to fight and scrap. Are these young foreign lads going to be up for that on a cold night in February?”
Wise words from an ex-player who has been there and done it.
only he never delivered or got us promoted did he? 33 goals in 125 games for a "striker" for us with a career tally of 162 goals in 586 games
British was clearly best for us back then
Injury update.
Hause near to comeback but Ayeh out till next year.
