Good fooking riddance! Even though he's a right back by trade, Berardi is a better left back than Taylor imo.
Don't give a flying fuq about Taylor now. I wanted him to stay and be a part of this. Not now. There's sick note six and now there's spineless one.
Fuq him. Hope he rots in someone's Prem bench.
Hope he goes on to do well. Always good to see Leeds players who DO care about the club going on to play at the top.
Good luck to him.
Good luck to him. Got no hard feelings but what an idiot for. Missing the last game after all the club has done for him. Makes you appreciate the likes of berardi.
He's a kunt
But a good move for him
Sadly, disappointing end to his time with us...but onwards & upwards
I will say it's made me think what does he know that we don't regarding investment in players to get to the premier league.i hope I'm wrong but I certainly hope the manager will be backed this summer...
Two sides to this story, firstly the club playing brinksmanship and consequently losing a valuable player, but secondly the role of agents in poorly advising players.
I'm sure most fans would have been sad to see Taylor go, understood him not wanting to be messed around by Cellino, but wishing him well after giving his all for us before leaving.
Why ruin all that with short sighted petty actions.
His agent probably just saw ££ signs...
Ah well that's the ST refund sorted out.....
Screw him.
Sad thing is I don't think anyone would have faulted him had he played out his last game.
In fact everyone would have wished him well.
But when you are earning thousands of pounds every week to play and people have paid money to see you play and you refuse to play, then screw him.
And I don't buy this agent bullcrap. Guy is a grown adult, he made the choice not his agent.
Easiest thing in the world to blame the evil agent, it's his fault, no one else's
He's done nothing wrong until the decision to not play against Wigan. I'm not convinced he was always focussed on the team during some matches last season, but I can't prove it so that's nothing more than an impression from me.
Like others before he's taken/taking an opportunity at a Prem club, which will most likely double/triple his wages............ it's an understandable decision.
GM labelled the weekend decision correctly - naïve. So stupid to refuse to play .........
Refusing to play in front of fans who have traveled to see you is outrageous. He has for sure left under a dark cloud.
Not defending him
But your on five grand a week and contract ends soon, you going to be soon going up to 20/25k a week
I can kind of see why thought of not getting injured
It's life changing at the end of the day
I'd rather get injured than screw over people that supported me. People would kill to be in his position and he's abused it. The chances of picking up an injury are slight, especially in a nothing game like Wigan. He could have not committed into big tackles and took it easy even. No excuse for it. Just poor all round.
Symptomatic of modern day football that you get handsomely rewarded for refusing to play for your team.
He should have played that final game, no excuses.
breaks his leg in the wigan game and he aint paid for a year most likely.
then whoever signs his does so on cheap wages as hes considered a gamble.
or be a douchebag, get 25k a week for 3 years.
horrible decision he had to make.
LR - those are the thoughts going through is mind the last few weeks I suspect .......
I bet the majority on here would like to say F%ck it I'm not turning up for work today then say I'm off to get a 500% pay rise next week . The harsh realities of modern day professional football.
Part of me feels he's doing what's best for himself but it's a poor ending. Don't think a certain soon to be ex owner is totally blameless in this.
from the outside its very easy to judge.
its probably one of those you really have to have the experience of being in.
think everyone always likes to think they would do whats seen as the 'right' thing. involve the risk of putting food on the table... things can change.
My view his that he's known all season that he is going do why leave it until the last game to refuse to play? He could have got a serious injury at any time.
Maybe something else went on. Was he asked to go on the bench and refused or did he refuse to start?
Always more than meets the eyes but I'm sure he will have his say once he's gone.
Not defending him by the way - I just think there must be another reason than possible injury for him refusing to play.
£4m seems a decent price. Cresswell went for around that much when we were feckin about over transfer fees, so 4mil for a decent left back is worth the risk.
Can see why Leeds might be fuming, but don't get why our fans are so concerned. He refused to play in a meaningless end of season game, knowing he was out of contract, with a multi million pound contract on the table elsewhere. Completely different scenario to some of the leaches we have had here Odemwingie/Anelka/Berahino etc. throwing strops whilst being well under contract.
You dont really want to set a trend do you, other clubs will be like hes a spoilt brat not playing for a whole season.
also think of how much money he would lose in fines if he refused to play many games.
one game wont hurt too much.
Not defending him as it was wrong but the whole situation is Cellinos fault all Charlie ever wanted was to be paid in line with the other players and as player of the year he felt he deserved that, wouldn't be surprised if his new club told him not to play, all in all a sad end to his Leeds career.
All four local lads who were portrayed as the future of the club have now gone, this along with Dave Hockaday to me will be Cellinos legacy.
