Never had an on course lesson, but got my 2nd lesson on the range tomorrow. Been slow progress since the first but pre lesson I had 2 94's and a 95, since I had a 89 and a 81 at the weekend which should have been in the 70's, shank on the par 3 14th, ended up trebling it! Doubled the last too.

Bought a Taylor Made M2 from a mate, only hit 2 good drives Saturday out of 12, but the misses weren't bad at all and surprisingly finishing with the same ball helps your score

I've never had an on course lesson either. Thinking of spreading my hours over a few 9 holes rather than a full round to rule out picking a day that I decide to play horrendously.

I'm looking for a new 3 wood or possible a hybrid, need to try a few. Not sure what degree of loft to go for either.

Never had a golf lesson, which explains why I can shoot an 86 one day and a 110 the next.

I've only ever had a few at the range. Learnt from my old man as a kid basically.

It does do your game good though VC if something is lacking or you feel in a rut with a certain club or part of your game, having the pro take a look at you really helps if they point something out you didn't even know you were doing.

Don't have a 3 wood or hybrid, just got a 5 wood at the moment. 3 wood always sounded good in principle, should be more controlled than a driver and still able to get good distance, but I was always actually less confident due to the smaller head.

Last lesson it was amazing how quickly he pinpointed 2 or 3 faults, made the changes and was hitting it very well during the lesson starting with 8 iron-6 iron-4 iron before finishing on the driver. Trouble is a couple of days later on the course I was concentrating that much on the initial swing movement that I stopped transferring my weight, therefore it became all arms and was coming way over the top for a massive pull.

Booked on for 9 holes tomorrow evening so can hopefully take the technique straight out on the course rather than forget it a few days later.

First round this year for me Friday, looking forward to it for now, but pretty sure by Friday afternoon I'll hate golf all over again.
