Monk's gone. Who's pushing for Sacko to return?
Surely the new coach, whenever he is appointed, should have some input?

Maybe Radz has the new coach lined up and he is having some input behind the scenes.

Sacko until Jan that would be well worth it, he was frustrating but still dangerous.

Sacko Feb to May.....worthless

Sacko has bags of pace and ability, but absolutely no footballing brain.

May as well sign Prof. Stephen Hawking on the wing - he'd be just as ineffective over a season.

Sacko had a very good first half of the season, then barely played. Still youg, though. Would definitely take him.

We need players like sako. Speed is important, young
enough to learn with the right manager and staff.

Why oh why do we keep thinking bit part players are the answer?

Sackho reminds me of Mad Max.

When he first came to Leeds United he had the speed but was out of control with no real end product.

Good coaches take players with great natural ability, like speed, which cannot be taught, and teach them what to do in different situations,

This player can become a star if he wants it, IMHO.

Exactly Jonny, you have to build a squad and have the manager mould them into a team. We're not going to sign 11 worldlies.

Every great squad has their own "bit part" or squad players. You can't just have an entire squad of superstars. Certainly not a team stuck in the second division.

Only positive is that he won't need to settle here, he's played a whole season so should hit the ground running. If we can play a system than can get the wingers involved constantly in games, he can be an asset. Wouldn't be fussed if we did or didn't sign him tbh.

Lubo, whilst I dont disagree if we're aiming high we shouldn't be aiming to sign players who already didn't work out for us just because we feel we need some bit part players.

He was part of our best finishing squad for a long time and was heavily involved in the period of the season where we played our best football.

Hardly didn't work out, and as people have said, he has the raw parts of the game down, just needs some quality coaching.

Grimes was part of our best finishing squad too, it's hardly a reason why a peripheral figure should be signed.

Sacko went off the boil but was easily our most effective winger. He made things happen and created plenty of chances. Makes the wrong decisions sure, but can improve.

Good signing IMO.

Our most effective winger in a sea of mediocre wingers at leeds is hardly an achievement.

I would let new manager come in and let him get his own players in.

He'd be an alright signing. Need more than a defected goal a season tbh. He scored one goal more than Green

Gradel was quality from the start. He was more imoact to start with, like Lennon. Brought him on for last 30 ans caused havok. Developed his all round game a few years later.

Sacko is a good player. £1m i would have paid. £1.5m is not too bad.

When you consider the wingers we have had at this club over the past 10 years how many have been better than Sacko? - Snodgrass / Gradel....cant think of another

Last season he was far more effective than
Dallas/Pedraza/Barrow/

We paid £1.3m for Dallas -ouch!
We paid £1m for Botaka!!! - wow!
We paid 150k for Ryan Hall!!! - sweet jesus
We lost in court wages for Cameron Stewart
Remember Jimmy Kebe???
Remember Lloyd Sam!!!
Seb Carole!!

I hate it when people compare our previous players to what we had in an attempt to try and justify signings.

So what if he using as bad as Ryan hall? That's no reason to sign him.

To be fair though I'm on the fence when it comes to this signing.

If it's but one signing in a good transfer window which sees us being in some real quality then I'm happy with it.

If someone can develop him in the same way we saw Chris wood developed then there is a decent player in there.

No thank you, average at best. Also most teams have a xfer system by where the manager has no say in who a team signs.

Who are the clubs, where manager has no say at all

posted on 29/5/17

t's almost as if a mystery person has been pulling the strings and had all this planned for a while now.

If not, having our owner deciding who to buy sound familiar to anyone?

Either way, it clearly wasn't Garry Monk having the final say.

I guess we'll soon find out.

Most top flight clubs have directors of football who oversee most transfers with or without the managers say.

posted on 29/5/17

most top teams the manager asks for a certain player he wants. cant think of any top pl clubs where the manager doesn't have major input.
