Not everyone is a betting extraordinaire like you Can Solo
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you though Mr Chelsea? I genuinely want some help understanding what he's saying, I can't figure out how his scenario works!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sadly I'm no betting extraordinaire, if I was then I wouldn't be at work right now!

There are 3 basic outcomes (ignoring no contests I suppose) - a win for either man or a draw. If the odds on the non-favourite are high enough (the draw will always be long odds) then you'll win no matter what if you bet on all 3 outcomes.

For example:

Mayweather win at 1/6
Bet £1k on FMJ - win £167
Bet £130 on CM - lose £130
Bet £25 on draw - lose £25
Outcome = £12 win

CM Win at (say) 10/1
Bet £1k on FMJ - lose £1k
Bet £130 on CM - win £1.3k
Bet £20 on draw - lose £20
Outcome = £280 win

Draw at 50/1
Bet £1k on FMJ - lose £1k
Bet £140 on CM - lose £140
Bet £25 on draw - win £1,250
Outcome = £110 win

That's just an example obviously and the wins are small. But people with money would just add several 000's to the bets and hey presto.

McGregor's real chances in the fight can't be represented in the bookies odds otherwise they'd go bust.

messed up those numbers a bit - all draws should be £25 and all CM bets should be £130.

But you get the point.

Nice one. I think that makes sense to me....although so did my version of the scenario so I'm missing something in my calculations I think (I'm guessing my scenario I shouldn't stake the entire 'remainder' of the difference on a CM win, just enough to turn a profit or something...)

Yeah, it's just a case of balancing out the bets to cover all eventualities.

Using bookies odds to prove a point in debate is a pet hate of mine - they don't represent the likelihood of anything other than the profitability of a business.

Makes sense Can Solo, yeah bookies will just do their best to encourage the most bets possible with the lowest possible payout, doesn't tell you much about the likely result.

No idea why people have an issue with this fight. It's an exhibition match and everyone accepts that. If you think it's a mockery then do not watch it and do not comment on it. Also there are no titles or accolade at stake here, it's a fantasy mma/boxer match up being made reality.I myself will not be paying for it but as a both mma and boxing fan I will still view it as the harmless exhibition it is truly is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So if you don't agree with something you should stay silent.

Spoken like a true fascist.

No!

Just don't fracking moan and winge about it and come across like you're opinion matters more than everyone else's.

http://healthyceleb.com/serena-williams-height-weight-body-statistics/41643

Build
Bodybuilder

Height
5 ft 9 in or 175 cm

Weight
71 kg or 156½ pounds

She will make weight easy. Floyd might put in a million dollar for every pound over clause in there though.

And a 10oz glove on her tennis racket

Different kettle of fish, but if a late bloomer like Algieri (who started out in martial arts) can hang with top boxers then Conor isn't going to get pummelled into oblivion.

Fully expect Mayweather to outclass him and win either a decision or a late stoppage, but he won't be knocking him clean out in the first round.
