If Lacazette is so great wh haven't the likes of Real, Barca, Bayern, etc gone for him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How tall is he?

Yes, your 'argument' for not signing him really IS that ridiculous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That said.....The English believe that Harry Kane is world class. But RM, Barca and PSG not in for him. So....

'Lacazette isn’t all that if he was we could have got him cheap in previous seasons....'

Again, another tired thing I'm seeing trotted out across various forums by WOBots.

It's almost as if Laca's performances maintaining his high level of performance couldn't possibly be a factor in Wenger's decision that he really is a player that should be of interest to us.

Again, how tall is he?

Yeah it's pointless signing a better striker and goalscorer than anything we have.

Lacazette is a pure front man who doesn't waste many chances. Is he world class, I doubt it but everyone has a different opinion of what world class even is.

I would like us to keep Giroud as well as sign lacazette because they both have different qualities and will give us different options. Look how many times giroud comes off the bench and scores, you can almost guarantee it because the game changes when he comes on.

Ozil and lacazette would work well.

I dont know if all the rumour about Lacazette are true. According to twitter it looks good. So we will see.

What I dont like about him is that if I trust the rumours he wanted to move to Atletico and was ready to urge Lyon to let him go. Not sure if we are only second choice for him. But that is only my view.

Absolute no doubt that the guy has class and if he really moves to the Emirates I support him as I support all the other players.

Lex he's 5:10

GT can't really hold that against him as that could be down to something as simple as the weather here. It sucks man, I'd pick Madrid first too

There is a reason why no one seems to want to buy Aubemyang hes one dimensional, if there is no space in behind he is pretty much useless. Laccazete offers pace in behind and good movement.

I don't know much about the strikers concerned but based on all comments/articles I have seen and you guy's opinions on players the "Best buy" for us is indeed Lacazette. By a country mile.

He trumps Auba by virtue of age and the fact he's (it would seem) tailor made for our playing style and pretty much exactly what we've missed upfront. He trumps Mbappe by virtue of already being the finished article in learning terms. Rant all you want about Mbappe and resale. A 26/27 year old Lacazette whose 30 goaled the Premier league, is liable to make us just as much money if not more due costing less than half what Mbappe initially.

If the deal is done then it's potentially "Wenger wonder business" reincarnate (think back to his arrival). Comparative chump change for Lacazette allows stupid money investment in MF. Cazorla needs replacing like for like. If Wenger does that along with this signing, job done (in the first instance).

Missing Cazorla's influence so much has made gooners forget just what the players we have already are capable of. The striker is important but that CM position is the key to unlock what this team can do at it's best.

Auba is only a better signing based on chanting and footy songs. "Lacazette" just doesn't have a footy chant ring to it. "Aubamayeng/Auba" on the other hand, is footy chant gold

Signing Lacazette is pointless

COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE
He is another average striker. We need someone world class and this guy is definitely not that. In the same category as Giroud, will score some goals but not going to take the club closer to winning the league.

As usual instead of spending an extra 10-20m to go for someone like Aubameyang we go for the cheaper option which ultimately will backfire.

Really hope this deal doesn't go through.

Interesting to note that Giroud is preferred to Lacazette by Deschamps for France. Obviously they are different types of players, but Lacazette does not strike me as a big step up from Giroud, if he is indeed a step up at all.

He isn't a step up. All these sudden Lacazette lovers on here will be crying halfway next season when they see how average he is.

I've wanted us to sign Lacazette for a long time. Now that we might get him I'm not so sure anymore.

If his performances last season are anything to go by then he will definitely improve us. Can't help but feel we are just getting Atleti's sloppy 2nds though. I wonder if his heart would really be at the Emirates if we got him.
