Stands out in a sea of egotistical premier brats. Class act Defoe, usually I've got no respect for footballers, bar a few- Defoe definately one of the latter.

Always respected Defoe. Saw a documentary a few years ago about him. Class bloke

I have always liked him as a player.

Last couple of years he has demonstrated that he is also a nice human being, but in a quiet, non-flashy way.

Saw this last week, on the day he signed for Biurnemouth he visited Bradley and spent time with him, tragic for the lads family but good on you Jermaine, you seem like a top fella

By the way, why is this article on the Leeds board and in the YEP?

Are the family in the Leeds area?

Just asking...

No Jonny. Just thought a class act like
him needed to be recognized everywhere.

No problem with it Batty, I agree with you, was just wondering if there was a connection.

I have two young kids, I can't even imagine how heartbreaking this must be for the whole family.

Defoe has shown real class and compassion and he's not the only one... Everton gave a couple of hundred thousand (I think) into his appeal fund last year after he was mascot at the Sunderland Everton game.

Heartwarming to see a positive football story, even if the event itself is heart wrenching.

Defoe should get a standing ovation at every away ground next season! Class act.

JLA - the little lad just touched so many hearts with his infectious smile and liove of football.

Not many things bring opposing fans together but Bradley managed to do it in bucket loads.

Tragic for the wee man and his family, heart goes out to them.

Lots of footballers do great, unsung, charitable works and i doubt Defoe wants the publicity from this sad story but the picture with young Bradley sleeping on his chest and him carrying him out as mascot is heart warming, recent reports are very sad.
