Not saying we are or aren't signing him, but plenty of Chelsea fans have been banging on about us taking matic so they can upgrade and get bakayoko
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Matic is staying even if we get Bakayoko.

From what I've read over the last couple of weeks the majority of the Chelsea fans on here genuinely did not want to sign Lukaku and also there were a fair few United fans that also didn't want to sign him.
That's obviously changed now.
A downside to Lukaku signing for United is that Chelsea will no longer sell Matic to them, which is a shame as he's shiite.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chelsea fans may not have wanted him (at least most) but the club surely does otherwise why bother bidding?
However the Chelsea fans want to play it, Chelsea have come off looking a bit silly here. We were told that if it came down to Lukaku himself he'd pick Chelsea. Clearly not true is it?
Belotti n Morata aren't going to be any cheaper. Also Aubameyang might be but he's not the same type of player anyway.
They will end up keeping Costa and buying Llorente as a bit part player.

I have seen Chelsea fans accuse us of being mugs.
The same Chelsea that signed Obi Mikel and had to pay us loads of money for the pleasure of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It doesn't make sense to me that Chelsea fans are glad that they wouldn't have had to pay that much for the player, with their history of spending big on players.
No question they would definitely rather have Lukaku than not and are upset he has gone to a rival club instead of them.

I wouldn't mind that.
Aubameyang is a possibility for Chelsea, as you say a different type of player but if they manage to get him along with Llorente then they will be more than happy.
Llorente is very underated and would do a job at any Premier League club, as a plan b option I would take him at City.

I wanted Pelle or Llorente last season as our 2nd striker. Good plan B to have on the bench.
Poor old Conte'nt, TLLL and SWTN are really taking this hard.
Probably back to supporting Fulham for them.
Not sure what're you on about Vidic ?

I didn't want Bakayoko at first but I've gradually changed my mind. He has similar qualities to Matic but a lot younger and quicker. Has time to improve.
Never wanted Lukaku as I didn't want us playing hoof ball football. He'll suit United's style of football.
....
So your manager wanted to spend £75m on a player who doesn't suit you? Doesn't bode well.
This would be amusing for about a second until we realise what an average footballer we've bought.
We're already unattractive stylistically as it is without the additions of Lukaku and Bakayoko.
I think Bakayoko would be a decent signing for Chelsea however given they aren't dependent on a playmaker in midfield.
You paid well over £100m to get him though. Chelsea's bid was £60m prior to you jumping in

Off course you did. You were haggling over adds on when Chelsea matched the £75m and refused to pay Raiola's exorbitant fee. Then you quickly agreed to the adds on. Chelsea contributed to Man Utd paying over the odds.
they did this to us with Essian, Cech, Robben and Mikel.
Sod em.

You don't think I am going to put any effort into taking the pee out of you lot, do you?
Cliches it is I am afraid.
You said we paid over £100m, we haven't paid any add ons.
The rest is just speculation.

Everton quite clearly set their price and minus the higher agent fees, you wouldn't have paid a great deal less than what we are going to in the end to secure him.
So you're not paying £15m adds on ? Or Raiola's abnormal fees ? Or paying off Rooney's contract ?
