I have my doubts on Barkley, if we sign him i hope he proves me wrong but i'd much prefer a finished article to compliment this team, Adrien Silva was someone we were linked to (apparently). I'd much prefer him for and he'd probably cost less money then Barkley would.

But what do i know, If Poch think Barkley's the man then I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Straight swap for Sissoko would be great business for both clubs , if we pay anything over 20 mill for this lad we've been Arsse raped.

If we are going to sign him then just sign him already. Our wait to do something this window is becoming tiresome. Either bring him in now and try and get him accustomed to the rest of the squad and to Poch, before the season starts or move on to someone else and do the same.

Spurtle , it's the same every year mate. Even when we do eventually sign players, it's usually such a long drawn out process due to our chairman. Happened with Toby which felt like an eternity before we signed him. This whole waiting until deadline day is getting boring now. Levy thinks he can keep doing a VDV and I'm getting sick of it. Just get our targets in now ffs!!! We have money to burn with all our outgoings so there's no excuse whatsoever.

I hope Janssen is given another go also , he started to look food in the last few games , got one against Bournemouth and then another against Liecester only for it to be offside, there is something about him , and IMO will be quality next season.

I think the further the transfer window progresses, the better a signing Barkley becomes in my eyes. We have been very boring so far.

Anyone know if Son has been training at all, or will he miss all of pre-season?

If he does then it will probably take him a month or so to play catch up.

We could really do with hitting the ground running this year but it's not looking ideal.

He's was doing all the preseason physical checks like other others last week.

Had a weird arm cast thing on though.

Saying that, I wouldn't want us to spend any more than £30m otherwise move on to other targets

Sounds promising!

If we start the season with a fully fit squad then it will make a big difference. Sure we can cope with one or two out, but any more than that gets worrying. You hear all the time players saying retrospectively that they missed pre-season and didn't really catch up for months.

Yes you can say that considering if a player wants out and is on his last year of his contract. You probably wouldn't want him though as I am sure he once headed cleared a ball under heavy pressure and the opposition scored a worldy off it.
