I really hate the extra £5 on the day and the odd time I've been able to go last minute I've always decided not to pay that out of principal.

Why have it? What does it actually gain the club when it puts punters off?

OK they might have to man the ticket office but they do anyway. People pick tickets up in big numbers. I know I've done it.

On the main topic - I didn't expect any reduction in prices but hoped that like many clubs they would have frozen them this season.

I'll still go but will pick my games like last year. A ST is no good for me as we tend to have a month away in Feb and two weeks away in Oct. On top of that we like to mix it up a little. We did the Gary Speed suite last year (special occasion and my lads paid) and often do the Bremner Suite.

As I said - get the product right and people will turn up. Demographics are changing though.

Agree on that stoopo. No logic at all to the 5 pounds on the day.

But Arsenal are the dearest in the Premier or not?..

I've heard lots of times in the past that they are but I stand to be corrected!..

Remember, Ken Bates said if you want Premier League football, you have to pay for it!
Sadly, for all the good things that AR is doing, I think the ticketing pricing structure looks out of touch and will damage attendances.

Having thought about it, the prices are worse than I thought.

The North/South stand prices on that list are almost irrelevant now given the number of season ticket holders. And the family stand, you can only get if you have a child going with you.

So for the casual adult fan, you're looking at £37 quid cheapest ticket and that's if you buy in advance.

What was it costing in league one at the ManU v Leeds cup game, 30 quid+ for the cheapest tickets?..

I know a few years back, but the same year also 3rd div Vfl Osnabrück v Bayern München in the German cup, cheapest tickets were 8€, some feckin difference you could say!..

But people must have the money or they wouldn't pay it!..

If it was a joke it wouldn't be funny, it was costing the same year to Vfl league games cheapest ticket 8€, I think Leeds games were cheapest tickets £20+, not forgetting, these were the 3rd division and the same tripe!..

I'm going to the Osnabrück V Hamburger SV cup game on the 13th of next month, 3rd div V Bundesliga , ticket costs 13€!..

I paid £199 for Premier league fixtures... If you did the same you'd get 35,000 every home game.... Living the dream UTT.

From Angus. Quite a good response to the fans who have complained I think:

Angus Kinnear explains the matchday price changes
Leeds United are delighted to announce record Season Ticket sales for a Championship campaign. In a phenomenal show of loyalty from supporters, Season Ticket sales are up over 25% from last year.

Supporters who have yet to purchase are urged to do so soon to ensure they can secure their desired location.

These are exciting times for Leeds United supporters with a new owner in the form of Andrea Radrizzani who has already bought Elland Road back as well as supported his new Head Coach with several new recruits.

Managing Director Angus Kinnear said: “We have been really pleased by the response from supporters and it is great to see Season Ticket sales grow so significantly ahead of the new campaign.

We believe Andrea Radrizzani’s takeover, his purchase of Elland Road and the appointment of Thomas Christiansen and our raft of new signings have all contributed to create excitement and optimism. Season Tickets are by far the most affordable way to support the team, offering up to a 40% discount versus match by match prices.”

The club has also announced an increase in match by match ticket prices this week, making Season Tickets even more cost effective for supporters.

Angus added: “We have frozen Season Ticket renewals for the past five years and frozen Junior match by match tickets since 2010 and now for the first time in two years we have increased the price of adult matchday tickets by around 5% with the average ticket costing £2 more than last season”

Kinnear went on to highlight how the additional revenue generated from ticket sales is spent: “Unlike Premier League Clubs who enjoy a vast income from TV, ticketing revenue is our primary source of income and is the largest single factor influencing investment in the team.

“It’s clear from the business that we have done in the transfer market this summer that all money generated from ticket sales is going straight back in to improving the first team which is vital for an ambitious club like ours which wants to be competitive, yet does not benefit from parachute payments.

“To assist supporters who can only attend occasional matches we will continue our members discount and we will be introducing new cheaper ticketing bundles throughout the season. We will always ensure that, in the round, our pricing is not out of line with other leading clubs in our division."

To clarify the introduction of an A+ category this year, this will only be used for exceptional fixtures where we judge that demand will outstrip supply.

Season Ticket Holders can enjoy every home Sky Bet Championship game for as little as £21.04 per match, with Under 11s equating to just £3.00 per game during the 2017/18 season.

"offering up to a 40% discount versus match by match prices."

So, a fiver = 40%, a shame they have to do the bod that cant "afford" every game or has family and kids to support!..

Can a man/woman get a family season ticket which the more kids they have the bigger % is deducted?..

Or is it just a rip off for them?..

At the prices shouldn't Port Vale be a sell out ?

posted on 24/7/17

No because like the fa cup, it's been destroyed by teams fielding weaken sides.
