Where did I blame injuries on the poor result?
They were a part of it.. the only reason if you believe Keny.
Already said countless times that we were honking last night, didn't have a full team, and Rodgers got it massively wrong.
Been consistent throughout, from last night to now.
Historically these games are always tight. We've been really unlucky with injuries. Either MD or LG could have made a huge difference.
Interesting though, if last night was away and we drew 0-0 I think I'd be even more nervous about it knowing if we conceded an away goal it would be an uphill battle
In that sense if you think about it we have a slight advantage. They need to win, we can draw unless it's 0-0 again. Dundalk got a 1-1 draw there last week.
Whatever happens it's gonna be tense AF, if we do go through it will probably be us hanging onto a 1 goal lead whilst they pump balls into our box in the closing stages. Make sure you wear your nappy troops

it only takes a one off in these games, this isnt the scottish premiership guys.

Just as well that the one off that really counts is next week then.
when did i say injuries were the only part of it?

rnr i think last night shows how naive we have been though.
if we want to compete at that level, we need to have options avialable to us.
away goal last week puts us in a great position, but if we dont have a striker, i dont see where it comes from.
even if erik is back its something, a threat from set pieces
Can't believe I'm being accused of defending last night
I've been as scathing as anyone.
It's no my fault Rodgers chose not to name more strikers in our Euro squad.
Just a quick one.. has it occurred that there isn't a striker out there that Rodgers wants to buy yet. Or that he has identified one, but they're waiting in the outcome of our Euro qualifiers before deciding to commit to us?
We don't know what's been going on behind the scenes.
We were poor last night, no doubt, couldnae make up our mind at times to pash or get off the pot, that said I wouldn't be upset at either the players, Brendan or collectivley as they have stored away so many brownie points with me that games like that are forgotten and forgiven immediatley.
I have nae idea how it will go next week so expect the worst and hope for the best, I honestly didn't think they were much better as a fitba team but thats why fitba isn't an exact science part of the fun is in the unpredictability
Roberts is the big miss. The wee man created so much for us when we were struggling in certain games last season.
Hopefully Erik and LG make it if so;
Gordon
Lustig
Jozo
Erik
KT
Brown
Armstrong
Hayes
Rogic
Sinclair

Ok, you've alluded that they were the main factor as we had no striker on the pitch.
Thats nothing to do with not signing another striker when we have one there already. It's no my fault Rodgers never named him in the Euro squad.
The main reason for last night was Rodgers making a Kant of it, coupled with players playing crap.
It happens.
Important thing is, we're still in the tie and only need a score draw.

Anyway, lunch is over so gotta get back to work.
Chow for now gents.
If we get through i'm delighted, but that doesnt hide our frailties.
regardless we need to be prepared for these ties.
its not good enough for that level, pure and simple.
i want us to be better, i want us to have a chance of getting in that group and then getting out of it.
being great in scotland is fine, we should be great in scotland, but lets try and get to the next level.

We both want that, but having this holy grail of a third striker sitting on the bench for most of the season when we inevitably get knocked out of Europe won't solve that.
We have a third striker.. Rodgers chose not to include him.
And who is this mysterious new striker we have to sign? As has been said on countless other threads over the years, finding a good striker is a minefield. You've said it yourself on the countless Bangura/Pukki threads over the years.
Right, better get some work done

ciftci is surplus that much is obvious.
but are we saying there are no strikers out there that rodgers deems good enough for backup? really?
in the world?
we needed someone up top last night to play that position, we had nobody in the box when the ball was being crossed in.

he would have been better than nothing piff thats what we had last night.

Clearly we don't have anyone in our sights or BR would have made a move.
Unless you think that the board are denying him funds 🤔
someone is being short sighted ginger, one of them.
if its rodgers then its silly, i dont think its crazy to suggest that with injuries last year we were short up top, and that it could happen again.
I don't necessarily think that they will come out and be much more attacking next week, It will be as cagey as last night I think as they know they can't afford to concede
I agree that these injuries and suspensions have caught us with our knickers round our ankles.
Nobody could have predicted that albeit we could have predicted Griffiths being an rse.
