Yeah they’re a nice club Villarreal. Nice stadium, nice kits and generally nice players or at least 2 recent enough in Cazorla and Riquelme

I just think their story is amazing. And have always had a soft spot for them since the Pellegrini/Riquelme/Forlan/Rossi days.

I don’t think this is even their gratest achievement - finishing second in 08 was - but to finally win a trophy is just an amazing thing for this club.

Banter aside, this is nice for the city of Villarreal and for them as a club.

They've never won a major trophy before, despite being close on many occasions, and these kind of fairytale moments seldom happen in football.

These guys will go down in Villarreal folklore for all eternity now.

villarreal made so many technical mistakes in the first 90mins...not v often ive seen a spanish team in europe so sloppy in possession

Hargreaves makes me laugh. He said we don’t have depth, and why we didn’t make changes, which is true. Then said we need three players to he a team that can compete at the top.

Really good De Gea facks off this summer now, it’s so sad how his time at United is ending but he’s been absolute shiiiit for too long. And he’s the worst penalty keeper I’ve seen in my life
