Yeah was poor. Belgium got a bit lucky at the end but done well to hold on for the win.

Italy vs Belgium should be a good game. Boretugal’s games are usually shiiiiiit.

I’d lean more towards Germany and France, but I do think Denmark or Czech Republic can spring a surprise as reach the final.

Denmark Czech Republic should be a really good game.

The latter's record against the Dutch is brilliant.

I think that lack of clinical edge will cost Italy. They look a more impressive team than France, but in a tight knock out game I’d fancy the French to prevail.

There’s a bit of big nation arrogance with this thinking, though. The Czechs and Denmark have looked as good as most of the bigger nations in this tournament, including England.

Denmark won a major tournament more recently than England and the Czechs record, as u stated earlier, is outstanding.

If we somehow get past Germany and don't make the final it'll be another failure of a tournemant by Southgate, yes the easy run to be dumped out by Croatia in the semis was imo a failure.

There may be and it's not always the case that the team with the best players in it wins in tournaments but I still think one of Germany or England should be getting to the final with the talent they have compared to the other nations.

That bloke is a diiickhead.

It’s not just their more recent success, but that those teams are looking good this tournament - I don’t just mean it from an English perspective, they haven’t looked considerably weaker than the bigger nations on the other side of the draw.

Obviously the talent in the team isn’t the same, but they are looking like good international teams. And as we’ve seen so often in tournaments, that can and does trump individual talent - Czechs winning today being proof of that.

I suppose it’s more palatable if you are England to lose in a semi final to the Dutch, for example. Even if they aren’t actually as good as Denmark. And it’s not a recent thing, Denmark have been better than the Netherlands for a few years.

Germany is a different matter, even if they aren’t as good as they used to be. They are an international powerhouse, their expectations are to win the tournament even when they are crap. England, despite having talent, just aren’t a team that should have that level of expectation.

I think tonight’s match was the slowest I’ve seen, both players from each side were playing like they were in quicksand. Lukaku and his donkey touch and bambi style dribbling didn’t help the Belgians much either, Carrasco was a crap sub too.

I’m worried about Bruno, I hope it’s just tiredness because he’s had a dreadful 2021.
