Mkhi was unbelievably bad for arsenal. Fooled us all by starting well though. Can't remember if he was good at United. Guessing not if they swapped him.
Oh sod it. Let's revive that classic line again. Must've been the worst swap deal in history.
They'd have still lost with benzema, although maybe a little more respectably.
Xavi seems to be embracing the PNP era given who they're linked with.
Daz, there's no doubt this current Madrid side is much worse without Benz, but that only accounts for our creativity and overall attacking play. His absence can't be the explanation for having gaping holes all the way through the side.

if we'd have played our usual 4-3-3 with benzema, it would have been a completely different game
you can't say we'd have definitely lost
why the fack did Carlo change the set up of the whole team
---------------------------------------------
He'd rather do that than use any of your rejects.
I’m thinking of it from a mental perspective mainly. If that isn’t correct then a team will usually get exposed, even if the tactical set up is the correct one.
I didn’t watch the game, so I’m just basing it off what I’ve tended to notice about Madrid without Benz.
why does he keep playing carvajal ?
even lucas vasquez is a big improvement on him now
Just remembered this is a Barca side without Ansu.
Can't wait until he's fit again.
Anyhow, our first loss in six to them and even though it's a very heavy one it shouldn't significantly change our season.
It'd be criminal to lose the league title from here, and we never looked like winning the CL so I don't think this defeat makes any difference really, other than seriously pishing off the fans.
we've been playing poorly since the new year let's be honest
the PSG match was more down to them bottling it massively
not looking forward to the Chelskov tie tbh
next season Barca and probably Atleti will be back and v competitive with us in the league

Nah, Vazquez isn't any better than Carvajal. RB is clearly a weakness we'll need to address in the summer.

I didn't either, but he started with Modric as a false 9, ffs. It's as if Rangnick waited until Liverpool at home to try out Ronaldo as a deep-lying playmaker.
Chelsea should be comfortable against Madrid, I don’t think you can compete with their physicality.
I thought you were unfortunate to be dead on your feet last year because of all the injuries, but maybe you’ll still have problems with that because of Carlo’s lack of rotation.

Wan-Bissaka could be available.
They just ran straight through us. There was definitely an element of comparative strengths after an exhausting run of games on a skeleton squad, but we haven't really made much progress in that department.
Our midfield is a year older, and I don't think Valverde or Camavinga have played anywhere near enough under Carlo to see them replacing Kroos and Modric in the middle for a tie of that calibre.
On the flip side though, I haven't really watched Chelsea enough to know whether they might be at a similar level to last year's.
They are in their ability to dominate the first two thirds of the pitch. City are the only team that can come out on top against Chelsea there really, even Liverpool struggled this season.
They don’t look as threatening in attack, nor as good at really boxing teams in with their pressing. For all Werner’s shiiiiiteness, he was really important to them creating and pressing - so you might get away with a lot more it Lukaku is playing.
What a wonderful day of football then
Barça pummelled Madrid
Mourinho won
Juve won
Liverpool won
Rangers won
Dortmund dropped points
Oh well, best to get it all out if the way in one go I suppose
Good news is Cádiz's win of course, and most of the results at the bottom went their way. Mallorca are on an awful slide, having lost 6 straight now, and even Rayo could get sucked in. They're winless in 10.
It was a grate weekend of football actually.....
because United weren't playing.
