I think one of my favourite ever was a Silva one where he like volley-drilled it half the length of the pitch was grate.

I’ve never really took the time to look, but I bet Henry, Rooney, Ozil and Di Maria have some amazing assist compilations.

Baggio looks even better on youtube compilations than he did in that film they made about him.

Remember when renoog used to do his Assists of the Week compilations? They were really good. He must've put so much time into them!

Yeah I vaguely remember now you mention it.

Outside of the boot pass ... into the top corner!

Actually it's only just coming to my attention how much he used to play with the outside of the boot. His trademark feint, no-look passing was mostly outside of the boot.

We’re you ever a Hoddle fan?

posted on 14/4/22

Hoddle was still a young player and I was only a young kid when my family moved to Spain, but yeah I think it's safe to say he was one of the few non-Ipswich English players I'd look out for. Moving here meant I missed a large chunk of his career though.

I don't remember all that much in detail really, but in my mind he was a bit of a unicorn, an English player who could do some of the stuff the tricky South Americans could. I have an image in my mind's eye of him scoring a glorious scissor kick, and for some weird reason it's got a League Cup label on it.

Hoddle was a skilful player with a great range of passing, but he effectiveness in matches has become greatly exaggerated

even as a young player he barely ran, went AWOL for long periods during matches too

I'd read he was in critical condition, but didn't know he'd passed away. R.I.P.

Hey, Daz ... here's a video for you. I think it might make your day:

Koke crying about City time wasting is amazing.

It's hard to believe he said it seriously. I mean, surely it was tongue in cheek, right? Right?

It’s just hilarious that they are so wound up by something they do even worse.

I know, it's fantastic!

And the Sergio Ramos 93rd-minute CL final equaliser is doing the rounds again today. It's a shame we have all these technologies today. That goal is the kind of stuff the Greeks would've turned into the Iliad.

It’s an epic, tragedy and comedy all rolled into one.

posted on 14/4/22

The most epic bit of all is that it had to be the pantomime villain who (admittedly not without reason) they most loved to ridicule.

After a 40-year wait to erase the trauma of conceding a last-minute equaliser in exactly the same situation.

A Hollywood scriptwriter couldn't have been able to come up with anything that could've made the pain worse!

Anyway, back on topic just in case you missed it:

Oh, how I wish there was a similar one for Mourinho. <dreamyeyes>

I love how much Ramos had broken them.

I’m a little disappointed that Romario didn’t hit him harder.
