Not necessarily. My dad's side is a bit sub-par. Only one or two on his side have lived beyond average age. A lot of cancers on that side of the family too. I lost a brother to leukaemia when he was still fairly young, and a couple of others have already had cancers to deal with.

I was a bit concerned when she signed up for the combat, because it's a full-contact type of karate and she had zero experience, but she decided she wanted to do it.

I thought that first experience might do for her, but she says she wants to keep at it at least until she earns her black belt. She entered kumite again in her second tournament - which was just a national meet - and came second, so she was well chuffed.

Congratulations to her.

I just love the idea of him getting Mourin-hoed.

There has to be a special kind of hell reserved for him where he gets 98% possession for the rest of time but never scores. (Then gets countered once every 100,000 years and concedes every time.)
