The intentions of the owner will be brought to the fore this summer aswell.

Yeah the owners are the worry. Hope you get Rodgers.

I feel a decent/average manager will have us no lower than 8th Darren. Depending on the recruitment of course.

If we can get in a top manager, (say Allegri App or Conte or whoever) and back him with the signings he needs, there will definitely be cause for optimism.

Or we could appoint Brendan Rodgers.

I'd like to see marcelo bielsa in charge at arsenal

for my own selfish reasons really

Fack him. He's even more stubborn than Wenger.

You’ve still enough quality to be top seven even if things go wrong a bit. But the right manager and some good additions in key areas will make a big difference.

If someone could get Auba, Mkhi and Ozil firing you’ll be a good team to watch again. Issue with them is the ages and whether you can build a platform in time for you to reap the benefits of them being in their prime.

It’s going to be a bizarre feeling though having a manager that isn’t Wenger, and joining the rest of the world where long term management isn’t a thing. United fans will tell you the same, albeit Fergie left at the top so it’s a bit different.

why not mark hughes

he'll be good for you

Big difference with us though is we've been looking forwards to the day Wenger stepped down, whereas no United fan wanted fergie to leave.

Also it's easier to rebuild from 6th than as Champions. I mean, imagine being part of the squad that convinced Wenger it was time to fack off.

I hate seeing unfulfilled potential, and I feel that exactly what we are. It's just a shame we've allowed the likes of City, Spurs, Liverpool and even United to progress so far ahead of us until we did something about it.

Yeah agree with that. But it’ll still be strange I’m sure. I think everyone else will find it strange not seeing Wenger in the Arsenal dugout. It’s something we’ve all become accustomed to.

I think Arsenal’s potential is being unfufilled, but with the current squad it’s not to the level many Arsenal fans believe, in my opinion.

Rumours about Carlo getting the job, what do you reckon? I’m not sure if he’d be a good fit to rebuild the squad. He does his best work when the team is already built.

Yeah, I said before we need a major clear out in defensive areas. Mertesacker and Koscielny have been good for us but they both need facking off. Mustafi is just horrendous, no amount of coaching can fix his problems. LB is also a problem area, and Grandad Cech needs to say goodbye too.

Arsenal are in a pretty unique situation, where the manager has been getting a lot of blame for years now. It's taken away from the fact our squad has slowly started to deteriorate over the seasons.

Still reckon a good manager would have us challenging top 4 with this squad though.

Regarding Ancelotti, I'd take him if nobody else can join. But I feel he's only a slight improvement on Wenger.

Central midfield is arguably your biggest problem area. Agree with your post, though.

Carlo is a difficult one in that Milan is the only job he’s had where he’s had to rebuild the team and even then most of that was down to Galliani and Bersulsconi, so it’s not something he’s really had to do.

With PSG, Chelsea and potentially Madrid, Juve and Inter in the market for a new coach there will be some big competition for the top names.

Who do you want?

Central midfield is an issue for sure, we need power and athleticism in there. But I feel with some good coaching we will be less exposed. Look at what Klopp is doing with his tragedy of a midfield.

Honestly Dazza, without trying to sound melodramatic, arsenals issues over the last few years have killed my enthusiasm for the game. It's been difficult watching other teams go so far ahead of us. So my knowledge of managers isn't great.

Allegri seems to have the right profile. Conte too. They're obviously both long shots though, as is Simeone.

Have a dark feeling we'll appoint Rodgers though. It's arsenal innit.

Luis Enrique is being linked aswell, but I don't know if him doing well at barca was down to him or his unreal forward line.

Their midfielders can run, to be fair. Xhaka is slower than Mertesacker. But I take the point.

Yeah lots of Arsenal fans seem to be like that. At least there should be renewed enthusiasm for your fan base.

Allegri would be good I reckon. I think he’ll go to Chelsea if he leaves Rube.

Ramsey can run, and he has a lot more ability than theirs. Staying fit is his problem (although you probably think he has more).

Get another powerful, athletic midfielder or two next to him and we'll be in business.

I would love to see Bakasissoko and Ramsey in the same midfield.
