He’s our best defender, he’ll be a big miss. When that becomes apparent at the Euros I’m sure fans will blame Southgate for it, though, rather than just acknowledging how important Mugwire is for us.

My friend is already blaming Maguire being a miss on Southgate for not blooding other centre backs in sooner.

Probably the greatest sports fight of all time.

The sport in general was at an all time low then though, lots of good defences and not many good offences. Made for some bad viewing.

Oh, I don’t really know about baseball so was just assuming they were the best. Pakistan aren’t the best which is why I didn’t think it compared.

Trying to think of what it would be like in football terms. USA are rubbish and don’t really play, or qualify for world cups, their players aren’t from that country; whereas Pakistan aren’t the best but have won the world cup and got to finals.

It’s like Scotland beating England.
