it's obviously less well known over here than munich, but i do know that torino were hugely dominant before that, far more so than united were over here, so you might well be right (don't know how young the team was though, it was 6 years before the first european cup)

they had the mets/phillies and the guardians/tigers games on the bbc last night, 6 straight hours of baseball, but alas that is the bbc's coverage for this year finished

I'm thinking Russia. Or maybe Turkey, Istanbul has a few clubs.

yeah, they're odd, and annoying like that, will just randomly show the odd match here and there, makes it impossible to follow any sort of narrative...but it's still more baseball than they used to show, which suits me.

i did notice though that they had a grand total of c. 1,500 online viewers for the matches last night, which is fewer viewers than youtube can get for a day of county cricket, and less than 5% of the numbers i have seen for online chess, so i'm not sure they'll be repeating the experiement too much in the future.
